Great video. I just did this yesterday before i found this video. This is an easy solution. I found similar at Menards for about $8 but are only 46" max length. Then you can extend them with flex-drain 4" diameter 8' max drain pipe over in plumbing. $6 ea.

In the Uk! Our down pipe will lead or run into a small drain, witch then connects to the main drain in the road! Simple 😂

Not so simple when that drain gets backed up and raw sewage makes its way out. In North America we wised up and almost every single household has been disconnected.

@@TheAllstar420 unless a river is going to burst it's banks your going to get it no matter what! Or if some idiot chucks some baby wipes down the toliet, and blocks the drain but normally it is sorted and unblocked well before it get that far, But I can honestly say in 50 year's and 7 houses later we have never had a problem with the sewage, and also we have a hell of a lot of rain in the UK, but It seems to work really well over here!

Yes, it is a cheap and easy quick fix, but it's not the ideal solution for long term. Cons are that it's in the way of lawn maintenance and will need to be replaced after some years. Best solution is to bury corrugated drainage pipe and run it 15' to 25' from house and use a good sediment trap plus popup emitter. But the best solution is also more labor and expense. Personally I have gotten very tired of always moving these downspout extenders every time I mow the lawn and I've got 7 downspouts to manage. Finally I have started the process of burying a proper drainage system.

Yeah that's a good idea. Definitely a lot of different possible approaches depending on expense options. Thanks for taking the time to comment!

If you are going to bury, you need dual wall corrugated that is smooth on the inside, or solid pipe such as PVC. The inner ripples in the corrugated hold water, trap sediment (such as roofing gravel) and mud.

HUM, never thought about internal trapping due to design, Thanks @@ryanglaser5336

of course. but price diff is 10 vs 1000, and you need to rebuild the lawn.
