That car is SICK. I'm not a big Ford fan, but still, i have to respect that. It's just funny that they call it an "Eleanor replica" since the actual car used in the movie actually was a base model that barely ran and just had the scoops and aerodynamics glued to on to it.
The car in the movie was actually quite heavily tuned, mostly in the front, to look more aggressive. Check the wikipedia to see how a regular Mustang would look like.

@Josh9415 Not sure if you realise, but the Shelby GT-500 is just a modified Mustang - decals, engine uprating etc. Dunno if you were trying to be model-accurate but a GT-500 is still a mustang!
@markidiot123 everyone is different, a mustang has more soul than a skyline imho, also they sound so much nicer than the puny straight sixers. Although I do love the R30/R31/R32 models...
@thatguru877 Not the ls6 version it put out 450 horse power in my dads 70 Chevelle. I built two of those motors got 744hp on the dyno with a regular 454. I also built 496 got 867hp out of it.
@thatguru877 I well I put the 496 i put in a 71 sting ray ran 7.93 best past. 454 was in my 68 camaro i used to drift but I ate the wall when the tire blew. They are good motors when built correctly. They produce great power and massive amounts of torque. 396 is a good motor no doubt but it doesn't have the displacement of the bigger motor.
