Lyrics:
You're looking kinda lonely girl
Would you like someone new to talk to, ah yeh alright
I'm feeling kinda lonely too
If you don't mind can I sit down here beside you
Ah yeah alright
If I seem to come on too strong
I hope that you will understand
I say these things 'cause I'd like to know
If you're as lonely as I am
And if you mind
Sharing the night together, oh yeah
Sharing the night together, oh yeah, sharing the night.
We could bring in the morning girl
If you want to go that far
And if tomorrow find us together
Right here the way we are
Would you mind
Sharing the night together, oh yeah
Sharing the night together, oh yeah, sharing the night.
Would you like to dance with me and hold me
You know I want to be holding you
Ah yeah alright 'cause I like feeling like I do
And I see in your eyes
That you're liking it too, ah yeah alright
Like to get to know you better
Is there a place where we can go
Where we can be alone together
And turn the lights down low and start sharing the night

Well of course I am listening to this song . If I too could get those years back that would be something else. They don't make beautiful slow songs like this one anymore. Glad to know I'm not the only one listening, and wanting to go back 40 some years ago. Lol ❤
you would be surprised as to how many are still listening to the great songs of the 70's...I was 16 in '78 when this song came out ....late fall to right before christmass, they played it every fifteen minuets on the radio....everything was better then, music, movies, tv, women, life....let me go back, just for one day

Say whatever you want to about Todd, he sure had a good taste in music.
I love Todd's charcter, he's such an evil guy but he's also really sweet and genuine lol
Good taste in room painting too.
@@flyforce16 I wouldn't say he's evil, he literally just doesn't feel bad about the things he does because he's a psychopath
He's literally a psyhcopath though, keeping her in the kitchen just stepping over her like it's a dog in his way on his way to make soup
G-Shock Jock I disagree, it was about the journey to that freedom. Now it’s an open book ending, because let’s be honest he just wants to make bird houses again.

I just love it. He’s literally charming the pants off a woman. I’m so happy to be in my 50’s and have the confidence to embrace my wants. It’s not only men now that can be free. No. I don’t call it games or they are being playas. It’s smooth skill. I took notes from the best and I don’t say this as a promiscuous woman. I say it as a woman who knows what she wants and is free too. Too much judging and people being offended by the word sex that it’s kinda a bummer when we know it’s actually a beautiful gift when shared with someone you care about and understands and respects each other’s needs. Right on Dr. Hook✌️
I heard this in El Camino for the first time in years, what a tune that has stood the test of time, its now 41 years old. Played it again this morning in the car on the way home from work and it made me cry. I was 60 last week and was thinking I was only 19 when this came out, where did my life go ?
It's funny how a melody can bring back so many memories.
Hope you made the best out of your life. Youre lucky. You lived the good music era. And youre still here holding your iphone. You got the best of both worlds.
I was 15. This. And Chevy Van. And Part Time Love. It's amazing I'm still alive. And how much I'd rather be back there and 15 than here and 56. Sigh.
Funny how things come back to our lives without knowing it. :)
I never thought a song could give me so much nostalgia to my old memories too...Even though my first time hearing this song was this week, I kinda sad that my generation isn't as great as the other old generations...
Everytime I hear this song or any of Dr. Hook's songs, I think of my brother. He died in 2017 at the age of 56 with liver cancer. He loved Dr. Hook and he was one of a kind. Always smiling and would give you the shirt off of his back.Miss you brother :(
So listening to it for the first time and I absolutely love it so much! I never thought I would be able to be truly happy again and I feel.... Like I'm high on life or something, the serotonin is serotonin' 😅😅😅 Super random story here, but I wanted everybody to feel the love I'm finally feeling! If you got this far, thank you for reading! Stay blessed ❤️🥰🙏🏻🥰❤️

Sweet memories of the Summer of 1978. Simpler time and my first love. I was 14 and it was absolute magic.
Neither one of us understood it, and back then two guys together was definitely not cool.
He was my first boyfriend, but neither one of us would have admitted it.
When the Summer ended and we returned to school it kinda ended - we hung out with different crowds.
We'd pass in the hallways and say hi, but it was definitely over. I would love to relive that Summer in another lifetime.

Welcome to the 70's...
Awesome. Always cool when someone finds new music to love through some unexpected source. One of my favourite bands of the last 20 years is the Walkmen; I first heard them, of all places, on a Saturn Ion commercial in about 2002. Totally fell in love instantly.
If this is your jam, by the way, this mid 70s yacht rock kind of thing, check out Paul Davis's output. One of the kings of this sound. "Cool Night" is probably my personal favourite, just because it has a weird, vaguely karaoke-machine kind of sound to the production that I really love. Feels like an Ariel Pink song in a way, actually, now that I think of it.

My name is Kristi, I studied in Hiroshima, Japan. I took a class, "Peace and Conflict Resolution," while attending the University of Hawaii. It was the most profound class I have ever taken!!!! Plus, I took 3 semesters of Japanese language in Dallas. Then, when in Hawaii, I studied Japanese Geography, Japanese Religion, 2 semesters of Japanese Art, and Japanese "Craft"...That is all I can currently remember. Even though I am American, my PRECIOUS grandmother, born in 1922, loved Japanese art. I can tell, you are going to be a VERY good friend!!!! Watashi no tomodachi!!!!!
One of their biggest hits ever!

Anyone have a time machine? I would love to go back to 1978 when life was much easier and better💕😭💕😭💕😭
I miss the 70s!!!!!! For me, any song after 1985 is garbage. Sorry. I'd even take the late 60s. All I listen to is 70s. I'll have the Bay City Rollers played at my funeral.. lol
