    I was there for a week last October, we did the golden circle (Þingvellir, Geysir, Gullfoss), Jökulsárlón, the Blue Lagoon, and did a lot of just wandering around Reykjavík exploring everything, we even saw the American embassy which had huge concrete blocks in front of it and a security guard told us no photos. We took them anyways lol. We got a great deal, it cost me $1150 CDN to fly straight from Vancouver BC, Canada, and stay on Laugevegur near the bus station there for the trip, we just had to cover food after that and museums and we rented a car from SADcars, which was cheap but the vehicle was pretty old. One of my most memorable trips I've taken. 10/10 want to go again ASAP

    Need help please... I will be making a quick stop at Keflavik International Airport en route to Oslo. My layover is for twenty-six (26) hours only, which I did on purpose just to really get a little taste of Reykjavik. My trips to Europe always make a stop there for a few hours so this time I thought I'd extend it. Can you please suggest where I can spend a good portion of my layover, where to stay overnight, including transportation maybe. I like the idea of checking out the old town, having local drinks and cuisine, and a little shopping. It's a good thing I get to Keflavik before 9:00 AM mid September, so I will have all day to explore. Thank you in advance. Thanks for the video post by the way. Thumbs up!

      Haven't been there but from what I have heard from fellow vegetarians travelling there is that it is very expensive which makes sense because most of the fruit and vegetables have to be imported. Maybe Mark can tell you more. I only know from people who went there.

    • @DrawingEllipse
      @DrawingEllipse Před 7 lety +4

      I live there and you can find stuff if you're veggie! Most burger places have veggie burgers (American-ish restaurants are very popular in Iceland). You can get many vegetarian snacks (famous dairy products like Skyr) but vegan is a little bit more difficult (I'd recommend Reykjavik Chips for fries). If you want vegan food you can always go to Bonus (the most famous grocery store chain) and buy the vegan bowl (labeled vegan) or the vegan wrap. Most restaurants are vegetarian friendly downtown Reykjavik (except maybe for restaurants that specialize in Seafood) and there are a few veggie restaurants but most of them also offer fish/chicken options like Glo. My advice is to look up happy cow dot com before your visit. (and yes like Kaylia1991 said it might be expensive but all restaurants are expensive in Iceland except for fastfood) *plus sushi, indian and italian food are offered downtown so obviously they have options too. Hope this helped :)

      No, it is not like that there I am from Norway and I went there last year and I will be honest with you that I loved that trip so so much. It is such a beautiful country just lookup on google beauty of Pakistan or northern areas of Pakistan. When you will look the pics then you see how beautiful that country really is. I even think it is more beautiful than Norway. I went there last year and I am going again this year. but our this year's plan was to go to Italy but that country is wayyyyyyyyyyyyy more beautiful than Italy. If you do not want to go there you are missing on one of the best places in the world but if other people wanna go that is none of your business and as far is the security is concerned in the northern areas there is police and rangers of Pakistan because for the protection of foreign tourists and wherever we went there were rangers force telling us where to go and where not to go there is so peace there I love it so so much there and I would encourage everyone who loves peace and quite in my opinion the most heavenly place on earth.

      There's nothing wrong with the water, in fact it's among the cleanest in the world. But they heat water geothermically so the hot water smells of sulphur. Personally I liked the smell when I visited Iceland, but I understand some people may not.
