A lot of people treat their animals, kids, and significant others as "pets". There is a sense of ownership and lack of respect. I love and respect all animals. I do not keep "pets" of any kind - animals are here WITH us, not FOR us.
I have 3 cats that I call my children. I was not able to get kids of my own so, I got 1 cat then 2 cats and a few years ago, I got another one. They are the sunshine of my life. If any human hurts them, I will do very bad things to these human. I am not a violent man, but I will protect my family's members (that includes my wife).

our Baxter had been abandoned. it actually took over 2 years before he started vocalizing and purring. the vet said there was nothing wrong with his voice. now (10 years later) he won't shut up. someone had been really evil to him--he's a marvelous cat, and sleeps frequently in my lap.

I'm going to say that this was once someone's house cat who, for whatever reason, found himself homeless. He knows what lies on both sides of the door and is most appreciative to have a family once again!
Yeah that's pretty obvious. I've had a few polydactyl cats, and it's an inbred only trait. That inbreeding also seems to make them extra friendly and trusting, while also not doing well outside fending for themselves. I imagine someone couldn't care for him and abandoned him, or maybe he just got out and wandered off. My polydactyl cats would be just as happy and friendly with s random stranger as they are with me.
A woman in NYC who works primarily with homeless kittens suggests most kittens she's found outdoors were born outdoors. They grow into cats who need food. Cats being born outdoors have a rough life in many places. Add in humans that turn a blind eye and chase them out of the yard, and you have a hungry cat with no medical care that has no place to rest and no humans loving it. Saddest thing ever.

I estimate Gnar had one day of life left when James helped him. He was so sick, so weak. It's astonishing what love, care and more love can do for an animal. Wonderful to see.
Makes me sad thinking of all the millions of cats out there that are homeless and don't have care....this is why we need to neuter every stray cat we see. It would go some way to reducing the amount of strays
yeah it seemed like that cat had one day of life left; then the guy gave him a bath, pulled at his wet fur with clippers ineptly, then left him outside under a paper towel for a blanket for two days lol. Nice ending and not everyone has the resources, knowledge and time, but straight to the vet would be best. I thought they'd give kitty fluids, was so dehydrated looking.
My belief in the goodness of people is strengthened whenever I see videos such as this one. The gentleman could have ignored the situation and continued on his way, but he chose not to. It was the correct thing for him to do to assist the small cat.

Polydactyl cats have the best personalities. They're typically really friendly, playful and affectionate. He's a ginger on top of that! You got yourself a wonderful little guy there
These poor homless souls are out there, keep your eyes open, talk to them when they come up to you. A rescue is the sweetist, kitty you will ever have.
If the opportunity presents itself for you to help a life, take it. There are plenty of animals in shelters that need adoption, and they would be happy to have your love. If you're capable and willing, maybe you can give them a home. Much respect.
He looks just like my old cat Frankie, and with a very similar story. We found him abandoned and dying. We took him home and nursed him back to health. He was the most gentle and friendly cat, and my great friend. He was very old when we found him, he lived the last two years very happily with us. I will always miss him.
My friend and her husband go out of their way to adopt older cats. It's rough on them because they aren't around as long if they were to get a kitten, but prefer to adopt older because a lot of people won't because they want a kitten.
Having done cat/kitten rescue for years I really appreciate this wonderful young man and his family❣🤩❣🤗 I would take Percy in a heartbeat if we didn't have our 23 yr old cat, PC!

I'm going to say that this was once someone's house cat who, for whatever reason, found himself homeless. He knows what lies on both sides of the door and is most appreciative to have a family once again!
Yeah that's pretty obvious. I've had a few polydactyl cats, and it's an inbred only trait. That inbreeding also seems to make them extra friendly and trusting, while also not doing well outside fending for themselves. I imagine someone couldn't care for him and abandoned him, or maybe he just got out and wandered off. My polydactyl cats would be just as happy and friendly with s random stranger as they are with me.
A woman in NYC who works primarily with homeless kittens suggests most kittens she's found outdoors were born outdoors. They grow into cats who need food. Cats being born outdoors have a rough life in many places. Add in humans that turn a blind eye and chase them out of the yard, and you have a hungry cat with no medical care that has no place to rest and no humans loving it. Saddest thing ever.
I'm still waiting on a space age language decipherer so they can tell us what they went thru. 😁

I say to my 13.5 year old female cat (when I come from work): "Your little brother is here". I see her as more than a pet, like my sibling. She was with me majority of my life. Still going strong.

I estimate Gnar had one day of life left when James helped him. He was so sick, so weak. It's astonishing what love, care and more love can do for an animal. Wonderful to see.
Makes me sad thinking of all the millions of cats out there that are homeless and don't have care....this is why we need to neuter every stray cat we see. It would go some way to reducing the amount of strays

yeah it seemed like that cat had one day of life left; then the guy gave him a bath, pulled at his wet fur with clippers ineptly, then left him outside under a paper towel for a blanket for two days lol. Nice ending and not everyone has the resources, knowledge and time, but straight to the vet would be best. I thought they'd give kitty fluids, was so dehydrated looking.

These poor homless souls are out there, keep your eyes open, talk to them when they come up to you. A rescue is the sweetist, kitty you will ever have.
If the opportunity presents itself for you to help a life, take it. There are plenty of animals in shelters that need adoption, and they would be happy to have your love.

He looks just like my old cat Frankie, and with a very similar story. We found him abandoned and dying. We took him home and nursed him back to health. He was the most gentle and friendly cat, and my great friend. He was very old when we found him, he lived the last two years very happily with us. I will always miss him.

My friend and her husband go out of their way to adopt older cats. It's rough on them because they aren't around as long if they were to get a kitten, but prefer to adopt older because a lot of people won't because they want a kitten.
