Love the Sam-with-an-American-Accent character 😂
Tony sounds like he's gonna fight Goku.
Ron and Tony

Ehh Overstayed in USA
Forgot how To Speak English
Your play-by-play announcers are spot on 😆
It's just a matter of time before Spotify picks them up for a multi-million dollar streaming deal!
I'm hoping that Ron and Tony get their own channel solely for narrating build videos.
I also love how Ron and Tony randomly start swapping their names around as the video goes on. :P
Only commentary I've heard *this* weekend ;)
This reminds me of the several times I've got the case to rule all cases, put a load of gear in it, celebrated, tried to single handedly get it into the car, cried, taken everything out, got rid of the case. I've done this more than once.
If you put over-centre clamps on the sides you could bolt the whole lot together and avoid any health & safety issues
Great idea
I was thinking the same thing. Latching or unlatching would only take a few seconds.
I came here just to say that or suggest support pipes down the side.
OMG LOL DUHHHH LOL. SIMPLE AND STRONG
ALSO..
Might need a counter weight too.
Omg, I was hoping till the last minute for some latch clamps, for sure this thing is gonna crush some unassuming bloke one time..
the voice over on the case build is brilliant
This has got to be one of the coolest DIY and music shows of all time.
Quite honoured to have tinkered with the prototype keyboard on the stage with you at synth east.. I'm glad my grubby little mitts didn't get to spoil the fancy new black keys. Big ups!!!
That's actually a pretty smart combo of cirklon and beatstep
7:22 my favorite thing is how random stickers seemingly spawn out of thin air on the sides of Kosmo, it's a very very important part of the whole project.
That synth shoot-out match-up produced some epic sounds!
I swear after 9:17 I was expecting to watch him spraying the new black beatstep pro with white spray paint. 😏
If you take a page out of road case manufacturer's books, or the whole books, you could see if you could put some butterfly latches around the edges of the synth cases, and latch the two together, closing the whole thing up. You could also get some aluminium flashings for around the edges of the cases to make them look better. Maybe also try to modify that idea and make a cover or multiple covers for the main case. Maybe even put the whole thing on wheels at the bottom.
That frigging sports commentary had me in pieces 🤣🤣🤣🤣 hopefully money allows for us to come see you play in London, Denmark Street is awesome!!
Yay i have made a couple of your modules and i am sooo excited to make more!!
Love your videos so informative!!
Hi Sam,
The one change that I would recommend is moving the power plate to the inside of the case. That way the cutout protects the connectors from being damaged.
Yeah fair! I did a rubbish hole tho so maybe not haha. But maybe!
For weight maybe its worth making a aluminium box? 2-3mm would be ideal.
Thank you for providing great informative and inspirational material. I just finished my first frequency central microbus to start my synth module journey. Machine Spirit be praised, it works!
Mate, your channel is absolutely fantastic, quality content. Congrats
Brilliant work, it always amazes me! Well done, lad! Keep it up!
I demand an extended cut of the "Baby play your heart out" song. 🤗🤩
Nice work on the synth, and fun commentary too!
Captivating as always.
Cheers dude.
Very cool work! Maybe you could add a clamping bracket to securely attach the upper modules?
Hi Sam, greetings from Chile!! I made an analog synth 15 years ago. Es la raja jugar con estos equipos.
Amazing video, excellent work!
I’ve loved watching this come together on Petreon, but this summary video is something else. The commentary was epic!! :D
Sam you’re fast becoming a legend : ) GAZAM - a brilliant match up of you both for Synth East. Think you could have reduced the weight of the keyboard housing by about a third by using 1/2” (12.7mm) plywood. Black/white keys look sooo good. Luv the ‘sport commentators’ bits. And you are doing an amazing job of the church organ project.
P E A C E : )
Love the harpsichord look for the keyboard!
12:09 " .. the game may never finish ... the game is life "😎
Awesome, Sam! What a trip!
man, that is one badass rig
It cleans up and simplifies setup for sure, but it looks great and really helps tie the whole setup together nicely. When you get the handles on, maybe put some wheels on it so you can drag it like a suitcase?
Sam! I have watched some YT videos recently with roll-playing instruments -- the American Fotoplayer and Marenghi Carnival Organ (playing Queen tunes!) -- have you thought about creating a roll-to-synth (MIDI) interface and playing vintage music/piano rolls through your electronics????
This really came together well!
The play by play was absolutely brilliant.
Top-tier DIY content right here, so exciting! 🤩
Bruv you are a legend! I'm cracking up on the announcers while jaw dropping on the DIY.
The "Cirklon as a ruler" comment had me rolling 🤣
this guy is from another planet. I´m totally fascinated with his work.
That was thoroughly entertaining.
That looks SO GOOD! I hope I can see it in person one day!!
Whoa, a thing of beauty and a joy for ever! And I love your cranky commentary. ADHD intensifying! I was rocking so much to that that I almost spilled my coffee :)
Plumbing strapping, great to have on had for apartment DIY!! I have two types. I used some to make a stand for my Waldorf Blofeld desktop module and a kickstand for my Behringer Model D and Moog Mother-32
Awesome built, Sam!
this thing is becoming such a great individual instrument!
Good looking instrument... And heavy looking 😉🙂👍🎹😎
Great content 👍
Wicked to see the backstory for this one; I saw it at Synth East last week🙌
IT LOOKS SO DAMN GOOD. HOLY CRAP.
This is really inspiring me to get into DIY woodworking. I find that so many of my issues with workflow come down to ergonomics and case flexibility. If I were able to construct my own case, it would solve a lot of headaches.
Seeing your approach to modding Cosmo 2's lower third is giving me the inspiration to do something similar.
Thanks Sam!
Once you choose to stick to punk-level aesthetics, you'll never be afraid of a joint 1 cm out of alignment anymore. Add a few more screws to pull the thing in place and that's it 🙂
NB: questioning the need to make everything perfect is an essential prerequisite
It can be surprising how useful woodworking is with a disparate variety of other activities. Being able to knock together just the box you need at any given time is remarkably handy. Mostly woodworking does boil down often to making boxes too.
I did not know that you could use saw dust as a lubricant for your keyboard. I will surely try that instead of sand.
nice! i've been thinking of making something similar, but the base i already made works for now. It's pretty much just a wood box with some shoddy speakers and a looooong power strip. I left the back open to shove extra cables in, etc. and put a handle on top. def used a kosmo pin hammered into it for a little bit of style
What an epic next level bodge build, turned out fantastic. Loved your use of the term "Facs'd Out" I thought that was just a broadcast expression
Loved the narration. Don’t forget to add handles…
I used to have a heavy duty multi polar "industrial" connector for my car's boombox to be able to take it out(for security). think it was 16 poles, it was kinda huge used in the car making industry to couple or uncouple machines and their control lines.
Looks really great ;D
Mad Scientist / Mad Engineer / Mad Musician at work! Sam you are a ****ing genius! Keep up the good work mate! ❤
That color-inverted keyboard is slick! I never would have thought you could do that just with some spray paint. (eyes yamaha keyboard propped up in the corner of the room…)
You need an ambulance gurney to move your console thingamajiggy. They're made to put the wheels up smoothly as you shove them into the back of the meatwagon, and then they fold back down again when you arrive at the hospital for your hernia. I think they are even designed to roll down steps with the slightest push. I don't know how they work. Magic, I guess. Looks like they are abundant on surplus and reseller sites.
Inspiring as hell
"Height-to-Furby ratio". An often overlooked criterion in synthesiser design.
I still love that 'Steve Davis' is that actual Steve Davis :) I found out he did this kind of thing at a Glastonbury festival years ago and have followed him since, the Utopia Stong stuff is excellent.
I watched the whole video and I have no idea what is happening, white is black, black is white, millions of cables, love it :D
super awesome fantastic
Dude, you totally made my shite day much, much better.
You are the undisputed maxter....
Keep on bruv.
I feel like 'absolutely mental' is basically the only way to describe these vids. Top stuff! Dead on American sports commentary!
Great commentary!
Heavier means better, or the CS-80 wouldn't have been one of the best ever, would it?
Also, Ii want Ron & Tony to do running commentary every moment of every day for the rest of my life.
so much trust in that stand!
3:30-4:00 I was clenching waiting for it to fail!!😂
Мощный инструмент ! Отличная работа !
Ron should be renamed to Wayne, cause he sounds just like Mardle 😂And wow! I was just informed that Steve Davis, the snooker legend plays modular synths! Cheers!😀
Yo Sam! Thanks for the name check! Massive Hugz, fellah!
very neat dude
Loved the commentary xD
You can have any color you want, as long as it's black! -Henry Ford.
You assembled yourself a beautiful beast there
Thank video Mr q
Now it looks like a proper Synth hahahah. Can I ask you what drum module you're using atm? I always loved the sound of the snare!
Looking awesome Sam!
Question for the class... If I love my KeyStep Pro, should I bother getting a BeatStep Pro? Is there another pad based drum controller on the same level as the BSP?
Nice one, Sam.
Someone at the CZcamss decided I didn't want notifications set to ALL, that's now corrected back to ALL.
dude i want to make one of those now!
Great build... just thinking out loud... maybe put some heavy duty casters on the left... a handle on the right (near the power input/output)... and fix some double X keyboard stand with clutch lock to the bottom... wheel it in.. lift it up... play your heart out. :)
Sam, watch out for the malicious revenge of pharmaceutical corporations, because your bass line progressions are more effective and eradicating my depressive tendencies than any SSRI, SNRI or whatever.
Harpsichord style keyboard, nice!
More work but: Voice over = Awesome. Litterlly kept me Awake and engage !
Geniusss
quite nice.😎
Nice performance ergonomics.
Reminiscent of '89 Electrovoice style, Michiana accent included. Come to Buchanan, MI when you're in the states and order a burger and a beer at the tavern. No one would think you were anything but a local.
I'll never get sick of that sports commentators xD Made me wheeze harder than it should have.
Kettle leads, on actual kettles, are C15 connectors with a notch at the bottom and rated for high temperature operation. IEC normally refers to the C13 connector without the notch. This has been a public service announcement.
It was a joke. But most kettles in U.K. don't even use kettle leads. Since c15 plugs fit into both sockets. I still think in practical descriptions they are pretty
Much the same. And in the U.K. both tend to be referred as kettle leads c15 or c13
your American accent is actually pretty good
Edit: MY MAN, vacuum b4 you paint. that was the only part that hurt a little
How are you going to get any texture if you do that?
So does the 60hz from the grid ever cause problems for your circuits? I mean unwanted noise?
He's in the UK, so it's 50Hz, not 60. And assuming you avoid ground loops you shouldn't have unwanted noise.
The sports commentary was hilarious, Sam 😆 Loved it! However, I've been wondering for years now: has that setup ever fallen over? I'm not surprised you weren't allowed to stack it up at that event. It wobbles so much and that keyboard stand is seemingly less that heavy duty!
Was that Steve Davis the snooker player? Amazing if so. Keep it up mate!
3:18 Nothing more permanent than a temporary fix! Edit: Very nice starting point! But after so many years with the white BeatStep Pro, the black one looks strange on your console.
❤ Ron he is quite the character.
The American sports commentator schtick is bang on! I can't stop laughing.
Top job Sam! Can we have a viid of you trying to cram this lot in ya Mini? 😎👍
The case is nice but is that an old television on the table? Maybe it's an illusion but that picture tube seems larger than the similar glass-cone round ones we had in the US. 10 inch was our most common size but we also had 12 inch ones.
Looks good. I like the inverted keyboard colors. Did you put 230V AC over the XLR connectors? Just had a look on the datasheet and found that they are rated for max. 50V AC. Since you want to use it at public places (concerts) I would be afraid that you get told : "No gig with that" for health and safety reasons.
No 12v ac
@@LOOKMUMNOCOMPUTER Yay, no one can complain then "This is not right, you have to do it different" like "You will never get this church organ to work again" 😎
10:37 That black beatstep pro does look sweet, really blends in perfectly with the rest of the synth. Only have one critique… could use a load of cringey RGB lighting😹😹😹.
I think I said it before, Sam, but you're a proper creative nutcase :P That being said, I could well imagine you'd have been my son in another life, taking my own "inventions" to another level, ha... wonder what your virtual siblings would have done 😝
