This series brings back lots of memories from owning a festiva and repairs. Thank you for this enjoying it quite a bit.
That’s awesome to hear! Glad you’re enjoying it!
If it was my car, it would surely sit in my shed for atleast a year while I gather every part to mechanically restore it, and then forget I even have it.
This is more my speed🤝
Wow I haven't seen one of these in decades, especially how clean it is. Crazy find good luck with the build.
It's nice to see that festiva saved from the junkyard that's a cool little car i would keep it as original as possible👍
such a cute little car
It’s something alright
You and the guy with Festiva Store might keep the Festivas(I?) going for another decade. Awesome content, can’t thank you enough.
Glad you’re enjoying it!
Thats a minty looking engine bay. As for what I would do with a Festiva... I want a Shogun. they're super rare so I would have to make a tribute.
They’re sweet! A project like that requires some serious dedication and fab skills. I don’t know if i could do it😅
Love the Ford blue on the block! This one's clean i say it deserves a full interior and exterior detail!
Ruh roh! Not a single like on this?? What up peeps? Give the man some lovin
I appreciate your support Mr. Lee!
I had one of those. I actually really liked it. Always wanted to swap a mazda BP 1.8 into it
I’ve heard those are fun. The 1.6 turbo ones too!
My vote is tarmac rally or drag strip. I’ve watched videos of a guy in the UK putting Webber carbs on Pinto engines. Maybe carbs or ITBs that would be interesting, but probably not doable- I’m not a mechanic.
There’s a guy that has done ITBs on these little B3 engines! Snowmobile carburetors!
I'm 45 so I remember when these were all over the place down here in Miami. Although this was by far a better and much more reliable choice than the other Offerings from Korea like the Pontiac lamans and Hyundai excel/mitsubishi precis I'm still a Japanese geo metro/Suzuki swift kinda guy.I don't think these held up very well in the heat down here. These were known for having overheating and head gasket issues like it's other other Pacific Rim pacific rim offerings.
It'd make a good autocross car for sure, great to see this little Festiva being saved as its a car ive always wanted to try! They did sell them here in the UK as the Kia Pride and the Mazda 121 before that, but haven't seen one in years!!
Sick builddddd I need to get to work on mine still running original motor / trans 247k but I have a unique swap in mind 😈
I mean, personally if I had your car I'd get every bushing and bolt sorted, figure out all the dials and give it a deep clean. Then I'd ruin all that work by stuffing a bigger engine in it and run water instead of coolant until I ruined all the gaskets
That’s one way to do it😅
4 cylinder crotch rocket swap rhat bad boy or maybe a harley v twin that would put some pep in it.
Would you believe someone has already Harley swapped a festiva? I believe it’s on CZcams haha
Nice... new sub here...
Welcome! Thank you!
I'd say lift it a couple inches, baby A/T tires and go all madmax. With either this one or the junkyard one.
Definitely not off the table! I love a good overland/ gambler build
If it were my car I would send it to the scrapyard 🤣
Festivas have feelings too you know🥲
Hi new subbie.... I have to say I like your style of showing your Festy the love it needs as I have that exact white one year and 1.3 are you able to work on anyone else's Festy or are you too busy in other work ? HINT HINT😊 Let me know ! I ❤ my Festy😊
Welcome! If you’re anywhere local I’d gladly work on it!
Awesome ! I can email you the information. What's your email or messenger DM ?
I sent you a Facebook Message!
I would tdi swap it.
i was thinking if this car was mine id put the gen1 2.0 duratec from the focus like from the 2000 yr in it... hummmmm automatic or manual
Manual no doubt! Cant beat the fun factor
We live I Bagdad Florida and are 67 years old and we just bought a 1989 white Festiva L like yours. For some reason, we are unable to get the new fuel pump to work. We have a slight pulsating positive charge at the fuel pump. We can't find a fuse anywhere for this fuel pump. We don't have power going to the reset button either and can't figure out how we have a weak light pulsating on our test light at the fuel pump. We have checked our fusable links at the battery area. Do you have any idea what we need to do next? We enjoyed your video!😊
So I’m looking at my manual now.
So first off, there is a black T shaped connector by the brake master cylinder that needs to be jumped across both sides of the T to test the fuel pump system. (This is the only way the fuel pump will have power with only key on)
Under the dash on the driver side I believe it’s a green relay that your fuel pump relay. Make sure it has good connection at all the pins. There is no fuse (other than the “main” fuse located on the driver side strut tower)
It’s not a bad idea to pull those fusible links out and replace them with long legged PAL fuses. I had the same issues as you recently and it was a bad connection at the fusible links.
@@crewcabdart Thank you! We will check it out tomorrow!
هناك تشابه كبير بينها وبين السايبا المصنعة في إيران
I’d restore it and have it as a daily, I have a 2002 piece of shit Fiat and everyone says I should scrap it but it’s just so simple and basic and I can do all the work myself so I love it
This my dream car I would give it a paint job like Jessie Volkswagen Jetta from fast and the furious someone donate me my dream car please
it's my dream CAR so go on a vacation to florida maybe watch a dolphins game 🌴🥥🎰🎳⛱
