This is old. Camp Humphreys, Korea is very modernized.
I was an Army brat in the 1950s and 60s in Germany and these barracks are a paradise compared to what I saw then.
That place is a Hilton hotel room compared to the very small 2 man rooms I had in Germany back in the 80's. We each had a bed, wall locker, one desk for both of us to share, and a communal bathroom at the end of the hall. I'm glad to see that they take better care of soldiers nowadays. I was a good soldier but I didn't re enlist mainly because of the living conditions of lower enlisted single soldiers at the time.

I’ve seen a lot of these barracks videos. Y’all got it pretty sweet. I went into the army in 1973 and went to Germany at the end of 74. In the states and Germany it was 4 guys in one big room. Couldn’t cook in your room didn’t even have one in the day room. No fridge and two latrines to each floor. Got it easy livin’ nowadays!

I was there! 2011-2014 but I was in the old fires barracks I believe bldg 681 room 375... not so sure because it’s been a long time. It’s the one near the basketball gym. Whoever is in my room now hope you like it coz Archiezzle was there lol
I believe it was 618 when I served with you in fires. It looks like I will be going back to work as a government employee as an I.T Specialist.

I was stationed at Vilseck from 98-00 I loved it now my son joined the Air Force and is going to Germany
When I was stationed in Vilseck (89-91) the actual rooms were a bit bigger, but held two people. No kitchen area except for a tiny hotel fridge for beer/soda. In fact no storing food was allowed in the rooms themselves. There was a microwave in the company dayroom downstairs. The wood furniture seems about the same tho. Interesting. As for air conditioning... we never had/nor needed it, just a radiator.

I was in schweinfurt. We didn’t have that little kitchen area. No stove, no sink to wash dishes. None of that. We didn’t have that at Knox either. Our rooms were about the same size, but with 2 people. Things seem to have changed a bit. Loved Germany though! Miss Germany often!
Looks like a slight upgrade since I was there 20 years ago...we had no personal kitchens
Their houses are built out of cinderblocks not wood. The houses stay cool without an ac. This needs to be done there, too.

Do you need your own dishes and cutlery? How do you move up in the levels, what about college? Can you take college classses while in the service? Is that logical?
so I was 19D and was one of the first ones there in brand new barracks back in 1987. We were right across the street from the chow hall and our rooms didnt look that nice. You walked in your door and to the right was your restroom then you walked past that and it was your room with 2 people in it and that was it. no microwave no cooking hell you guys have it made.

Where is the barracks in relationship go your unit? When I was in the Army your barracks was at the unit. My room was down the hall from the platoon CP and downstairs was the company hq. Everyone lived in the Bn area except married and officers. Is it the same way?

I left dec15 2017. Same troop N. An I was rm 224 lol this was pretty cool. I was showing others an didint think I would find a video let alone the room next door😅

I know stateside barracks rooms are better BUT compared to what we had in the 80's this is a hotel room to me. The best rooms i ever had were 2 man rooms with a wall locker/2 drawer night stand and one simple desk. Nothing else. Bathrooms were down the hall for the entire floor to use. BUT stateside units had A CABLE OUTLET WOW!!!!

LOL wow what a room you should have seen what it was like in 1982 when I was stationed in schwabach Germany 2/59ADA 4 guys to a room 4 lockers 4 walls and a window + 20 to 30 guys share the same bathroom

I went as a 11 Bravo are barracks was totally different they had about eight guys in one room. Stitching in Schweinfurt Germany 77 to 80 totally different👍🏼🤠🇺🇸

I was at Fort Carson (1/8 Inf) back in 1982. We had a three man room with our own bathroom as well. No cooking area.
I just left Carson 1 man room, shared common area, mini fridge, no cooking area. This was 1st BDE tho. 3rd has stoves and full size fridges
