I guess people are finally after decades upon decades that we finally address character inconsistency in media.

Suicide Squad kill the justice league is NOT cannon, most characters there are DEAD in arkham games like Killer Moth and i think King Shark was dead too.

Killer Moth is not dead.In the Red Hood Dlc from Arkham knight, two thugs that Jason was watching were talking about him and we're wondering if he's the one that took down Killer Moth. After that Red Hood takes them down, leaving it open ended. It could be true that it was Jason,it could also be that it was Azrael, the other hooded vigilante and with either of the two,Killer Moth could had escaped and is just in hiding.

They need good editors to keep the writers in check, problem is most writers have an ego and the marketing team making them seem like gods who can do no wrong so the editors bend to their will.

The problem is that Marvel and DC editorial and all the adjacent companies handling the movies and video games hate these characters too at this point. They want to promote "hip new" characters that nobody loves, Warner Bros. has a HUGE fucking boner for Harley Quinn cause this character has just become a monster in terms of her popularity so they're milking and shoving her into everything, Marvel hates Peter Parker and wants to replace him with Miles Morales and focus on the Spider-Verse, it's all a butt load of shit and until the current higher ups at Marvel and DC get replaced by people who actually care for these fucking characters instead of just their own biased agenda's, this will never change.

I feel like there are some stories that did have something to say, but shouldn't have warped a popular hero into a moron to say it.
I feel like if you want to have a story about a shield wearing super soldier who doesn't care about collateral damage and does whatever the government says, don't take Captain America and remove all of his redeeming qualities. Make a new character and call him something like "Bunker Buster".
If you have a story about a renegade cop who commits horrific atrocities against people protesting government abuses, don't use The Punisher, make that character and name him "The Jackboot".
(These aren't specific examples, just the vibe I'm describing.)
What's even better, is now you've made a great foil to pit up against that hero in the future, to hammer in that problem they were made to represent.

This and confusing continuity issues was why I dropped comics. We went from extreme to extreme or writers who messed up SO bad we had to do yet another "new" reboot! I am genuinely tired of seeing some of my favorites getting destroyed by "modern" writing. Want to know how to write a good character, be they woman or man? Write a good character! Destroying couples that have been established in every continuity because you wanted to write something different without establishing a basis as to why that couple won't work is shoddy at best! For heavens sake most comic stories now days you paste any hero in the story and it would work because there is no characterization anymore. I miss the moment where Batman's compassion felt real, and Spiderman's intelligence was not underrated and ran roughshod over. It's remarkable how many superhero origin movies we've gotten over the past couple of decades as they continually reboot and rehash them and yet one of the ones that DESPARATELY needed that refresher because of how badly they messed up the timeline, we never got! X-men I'm looking at you.
