I prefer looking it up on my manual (or if I can’t find it, I google the manual) because I despise having to re-watch over and over again when something doesn’t make sense to me. With written instructions and diagrams, I can go at my own pace. I’m the same way with patterns. I much prefer well-written patterns over sew-alongs. For some tricky techniques, it does help to see the person do it on video, but that has to be accompanied by well-written instructions for me to learn. Good question!! 💞
Great bonus question! I usually start with the instruction manual, then see if a video exist on the subject. I too am a visual learner, and love it when someone has demonstrated a technique. 🥰 CZcams rocks!🎸
I do both. In reference to sewing buttons on with the machine: I put a dab of glue stick onto the back of the buttons to help them stay where I want them, until I can get the button presser foot on top of them. This helps a lot. By the way, you are looking great!
@@MichelleSewsAgain yes it is. I've been taught to crochet and sew entirely by CZcams videos. I've learned so many skills from generous CZcamsrs like you ❤️
I use my manual! And Google/CZcams if I’m still not sure 😂 my machine is 18 years old so not sure my machine is relevant in videos now. For technique’s definitely YT!
Hands down Utube However there have been time when I couldn’t find a video that showed me what I need to do/ how it works/ or how to work it and if I was able to find something close the person did a poor job of demonstrating it. I.e poor lighting, hands in the way, videoing to far away or, just poor angle. 😞so then I would have to look it up in the book and read. 😤🤣 and hope I can understand it. 😂🤷🏻♀️

I get it Izzy! I think, for me, it's a matter of terminology maybe? I don't always get what the manual is trying to tell me!
I do both. It also depends on what needs looking up.
😊💕

I agree!! 😊
Google and/or CZcams for EVERYTHING! Ain’t nobody got time to read a manual! 🤣💗
😂😂😂😂😂
I'm with you on that one. I also learn by watching. CZcams is where I like to go first.
💕
Both. I look it up in the manual 1st because it is specific for my machine. Then I do a search for CZcams videos and watch several of those.
That makes total sense!!
I often do both, for sewing machine the manual is often enough but with my overlocker I definitely need both!
😊😊😊😊

That's a great tip - thanks! And thanks for your kind comment 😊💕
I look everything sewing related up on CZcams first. If it’s not there…I use google. This was great! Thank you Michelle. ❤ Diann
Thanks Diann!
Morning Michelle, I watch you tube. But my manual is still near at hand. Have a fantastic day. Val❤️🇨🇦🇬🇧
That's a good plan Val! Have a great day 😊
I do both but youre right, CZcams is usually where I land so I can watch the fix.
It's usually really easy to find what you're looking for, right??

Great question. I use both. Manual for all the reasons Izzy said but sometimes You Tube just hits the spot!!
Yep - that makes sense!!
I look in the manual first then when I can’t figure it out, I look for a video. Good question!
Good process!
Or just look it up on your sewing machine! Or Jen's when you come over! 😂
Once I HAVE a fancy dan sewing machine I'll be able to do that 🤣
I learn better by watching also. Reading frustrates me as I have to reread several times some times to understand what they are telling me.
Same for me!
Both, but absolutely a lot of CZcams!!!
😊💕
On Line - There are several videos on how to use my machine. ❤
That's great! I am lucky that I have the same thing for my serger. There is one channel that did a complete series on EVERY feature!
CZcams then google if I didn’t get the answer.
I enjoy learning from someone who loves and enjoys what I love and enjoy.
Same here! Thanks so much for sharing 😍
CZcams! My daughter in Colorado - we're zooming right now... just said "a zillion percent - the manual"!!!
Haha - something for everyone!! 😊

😀👍
You tube every time 😂
👍
I Google it. That often leads to a CZcams video. It's just easier than going to dig out my manual.
I agree!
Some of the machines don't come with printed manuals!
That's interesting - are they more digital now for the newer ones?
Manual first....but I'm a user manual geek. 🤓
Haha - I didn't know that was a thing! 😂
Manual then CZcams
👍
If all else fails read the instructions 😂
😂😂😂😂😂
You tube all the way 😊
100% 🤣
I start off with my manual and if I"m still stuck I go to CZcams.🙃
That's smart cuz 😊
CZcams! I’m a visual learner, also.
😀👍
CZcams!
😀
Hands down Utube

LOL - I feel your pain and have been there as well!!
CZcams
👍
If I can’t find my manual I will go to you tube. I do like you tube better
It's just easier (to me) 😊
YOUTUUUUUBE!😅😅😅😅
😂😂😂😂😂
CZcams is much quicker ❤️🇿🇦🧵
Agreed LOL! 🤣💕
