Throttling Up The Grade In Grand-bay! NBSR 6408 Leads 120 Eastbound In Notch 8!

  • A video I shot back on June 3rd, 2024 shows a long NBSR Eastbound mixed manifest/intermodal train on a quiet, but overcast morning. The 120 is just starting to crest a long grade through the town of Grand-bay Westfield.
    This was shot at around mile 10.6 of the NBSR McAdam Subdivision with NBSR 6408 leading the charge, along with NBSR 6409 and NBSR 6403 trailing, hauling about 109 cars of autoracks, box cars, and intermodal containers. Cool to see them running in notch 8, however I would've liked some more speed. A great horn though on the lead unit.
