bro it was Slovakian language not Slovenian, you keep mistaking them in every video ! :D
6:20 is not Slovenian
If that is slovenian then I´m the pope. Im Slovenian and that is not our language in any way!? We don´t use y ever, we however use Š Č Ž .Maybe if you used google transate, you would get that. Slovenian language: Mislm da nimaš pojma o jezikih in še slovenec ne bi ugotovil da je to slovenščina.
I think it’s true, because I am learning Slovene, and even though I am beginner level, that sentence didn’t look like Slovene to me, and I don’t think Slovene has words like by with y, so I think it was in Slovak - I am also upper advanced level in Dutch and advanced level in Norwegian and upper intermediate level in Icelandic and Norse and German, and that sentence was in Norwegian, not Danish, I mean, I am not sure if that sentence would be exactly the same in Danish, but it is how one says it in Norwegian, and hyggelig means nice in Norwegian!
I like your vids but you have mins. 2 mistakes here:
1) The sentence in 3:53 is in Norwegian, not in Danish. I learned Norwegian and I understand all the words in this sentence. It is: "I'm gald to meet you." or "Nice to meet you."
2) The sentence in 6:11 is in Slovak, not in Slovenian. I'm Czech and I speak Slovak on fluent level. The sentence is: "Would You dance with me?"
The difficulty levels were a very nice idea.
@@lingualizer 🤌
6:56 there's Lhasa/Standard Tibetan which had around 1.2 million apeakers in 1990. It's also the official language of the Tibetan Autonomous Region of China.
Yeah, that threw me off to because I've read about the main Tibetan languages Ü-Tsang, Amdo and Khams
I learned a handful of Tibetan words from a former coworker. I was so confused at this part.
Hey, just wanted to let you know that the sentance at 6:13 is not Slovenian but Slovakian :)
yeah I was surprised he said Slovenian, I thought it was either Czech or Slovak 🤯
Thank you, I was like "Slovenian doesn't have many Ys, does it?"
Jako docela mě to překvapilo. Ale když umíš česky, tak se to jednoduše dá poznat
Slovensko v vsakem primeru 😀
Exactly, I’m Serbian but couldn’t recognize it as Slovenian…
Please do more of these. It's really interesting to see the different written languages.
3:48. Thats norwegian, not danish! as a norwegian, i am so offended😂
sowwy :(
i was just about to comment the same thing :D it's all good though, the writing is very similar at times
Hey! I’m a Dane and I’m also offended! 😂🇩🇰🇳🇴
But hey, our spelling is similar😅
I came here to see if anyone had commented already 🤣Som svensk som ser skillnad på norska och danska så stör det mig också!
I'm Greenlandic and I'm offended on your behalf. ^o^
6:22, its not Slovenian, but Slovak... :D
Oohh, nice. I thought it was perhaps Slovak, but then he said Slovenian 🤷♂️
@@ChrisWar666 Yeah, he's being an idiot again, Slovenia doesn't have y's, the only possible dilemma there is Czech or Slovak
Are they mutually intelligible?
@@TheAtomoh You can understand something, but you can´t have a conversation.
As a pole it's easy to understand slovak and fucking impossible to understand slovenian
6:57 tibetan IS a language. this is the script: འབྲུག་རྒྱལ་ཁབ་འདི་ ལམ་སྲོལ་ཕྱུགཔ་ཅིག་ཨིནམ་ལས་
And it’s such a beautiful script.
6:23 I have to inform you that you accidentaly said Slovenian instead of Slovakian. 🗿
Is the Greek and the Cyrillic alphabet so similar to each other for someone who is not familiar with either? As a Greek it surprises me every time people from other countries assume I am from some slavic country after seeing my name written in Greek. I thought it was obvious that people could tell them apart
Cyrillic script was inspired by Greek
@@vdv_snp5414 I know right, they had taught us that in school, and actually I am able to read many of the words in Cyrillic even though I understand nothing. But still I think they are very different
@@vdv_snp5414as was the Latin one but people just see it as different.
It's just simple lack of general knowledge.
As a Bulgarian who has been learning Greek for 8 years I have the same question. I can't believe people can't distinguish the Cyrillic alphabet from the Greek alphabet. 🤓🇧🇬🇬🇷
@@loraivanova8635 Μπράβο που μαθαίνεις ελληνικά! Ελπίζω να μη σου φαίνονται πολύ δύσκολα :)
6:20 ... It's Slovakian , im from Slovenia and it not even close :D ... But thanks for great content :)
For anyone who might potentially be confused for the last one : The key (at least to me) is the double "c". You might have a double consonant in Spanish if it's actually pronounced differently, but something like "bocca" wouldn't be different from "boca", and in this case, Spanish wouldn't have that double consonant in writing. Italian, on the other hand, does pronounce double consonants differently from single consonants, so they have them in writing more often.
Also, it's always sad to see someone confuse the Cyrillic alphabet and the Greek alphabet. They're actually very different when you take the time to compare them (and by "time", I mean a few minutes), which a lot of people unfortunately don't do. Yes, there are similarities, and I understand how a layperson might be confused, but there are also some obvious differences, like certain letters/shapes existing in one but not existing in the other one. The two alphabets are also more similar in uppercase than lowercase, so comparing what lowercase letters look like in both is also valuable. If you're into language quizzes or Geoguessr, you should really study this. Might save your ass a few times.
Yeah it's annoying when they don't recognize those alphabets lol. It's also easy to recognize some Cyrillic languages if you know how to do transliteration, украинец sounds more gentle and with less consonants than Русский
I was thinking the exact same thing. The last guy sounds like a native Spanish speaker and he couldn't tell that "bocca" was spelt differently to "boca"? Therefore even if he didn't know what language it was, he should've known that it was at least not Spanish. Spanish is not even my 1st language and I don't even speak Italian and I know this.
@@IceHax For Ukrainian, I usually look for letters that don't exist in Russian, like "і". I'm not the best at distinguishing Cyrillic languages, but I can at least differentiate Slavic vs non-Slavic, and when I'm lucky, I can see some letters being different or used in ways they wouldn't be in Russian. I think this is more advanced, though, so I don't blame people for failing to distinguish them. I just think it's sad when they get the whole alphabet wrong to begin with.
I saw my flag 🇦🇿 and clicked it
4:04 is Norwegian, not Danish
that italian guy who was guessing the language
It wasnt even slovenian
The way the wonan at 8:09 said €50 and went straight for Lingualizer lmfao. Im dead.
Right?! I blurted "What the fuck is wrong with your head?!" when she did that. Some people, man.
That's Slovak, not Slovenian 😮
3:57 as dane.. it's a norwegian language😅
Great idea for a video! More please!
6:10 was Slovak(ian), not Slovenian - seeing how often Slovakia and Slovenia get confused for each other, it gives me goosebumps. My Slovenian brothers, do we do rock, paper, scissors who should rename their country?
nah, we just gotta merge
was just on my way to comment this. i don't understand why people mix it up so much... are the names really that confusing? 😭
Read Gaston Dorren's book Lingo, there's a hilarious short chapter on Slavic languages and their names in other Slavic languages
My guy... That was not a Slovenian sentence.
Please add more Azerbaijan related questions, that Europeans know the country more. You will also be super famous there.
I love how he spreads his positive energy with the people and encourages them. Great video, great context and great person!
Det er så hyggelig å treffe deg is Norwegian. Det er så hyggeligt at møde dig is correct Danish.
Yeah that confused me too. I figured it was Norwegian.
Yep.
Yeah, it was also Slovak instead of Slovenian in the video
Exactly, I’m learning Norwegian and Danish as well as Swedish (though less so) is different, and I recognise which is which most of the time so that confused me when I guessed Norwegian and he said Danish…
Also, in Norwegian you can also use møte instead of treffe (which is the same as in German) making the difference even smaller, but deg made it obvious it’s Norwegian (Danish and Swedish use dig instead of deg)
Did she say Konkista at 1:21? I'm guessing she meant to say Konkani, but that language is from the western coast of India, not Pakistan. Also the sentence at 6:14 is Slovak, not Slovenian! Within the Slovene language, the letter y is only found in foreign words! By in Slovak means would but would in Slovenian is bi! The sentence at 3:48 is Norwegian, not Danish! Deg is you in Norwegian, while dig means you in Danish. And there is such thing as Standard Tibetan, also known as Lhasa Tibetan, and it is the official language of the Tibet Autonomous Region.
For those wondering, "S’ha acabat el bròquil" is an expression that literally means "There is no broccoli left" and this is the Catalan way of saying that the jig is up, they're calling someone out on their deceptive mischief! "Meter a pata na poça" literally means "stick your paw in the puddle" and it means you're making a mistake. The Hungarian one "Nem kolbászból van a kerítes" literally means "the fence is not made of sausage" and is the classic expression that money doesn't grow on trees! And "sentir la sapin" literally means "smell like fir wood" and this is meant to smell like death because coffins are traditionally made of wood!
Try playing GeoGuessr, I would love to see a episode or maybe a couple, you’ll do just fine :)
I really like this video with the options and guessing the language by looking at the letters. I thought it would be audio to listen to the language but im so glad they were letters to try guess. Great video, really liked it! ❤
You are such a polite and great man🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Has there be a mistake in the Slowenian text? As far as I remember, they don't have a 'y' in their alphabet....
plz do more of these....love it hahaha
6:49 I was scared for a moment at this part 🤣. When the woman took the paper with Azerbaijani written on it. I thought someone hacked me and said to me on CZcams: good luck 😂 I never expected that a sentence would appear in Azerbaijani. Love and respect from Azerbaijan
@4:07, that was Norwegian, not Danish. In Danish you'd say "det er så hyggelig at møde dig."
Me hubiese encantado estar allí y haber juagado ese juego. Me encantó el reto ❤😂
Wish you made videos more often 😢
I got the following correct: Polish, Catalan, Hungarian, Portuguese, Ukrainian, Estonian, Danish, Finnish, French, Greek, Swahili (after the hint), Maltese, Turkish, Dutch, German
Bro I literally didn't even ask you
It was Norwegian, not Danish so you got that one wrong.
@@Aunethcit was danish
Nope. It's not.
@@lucasmesquita2160 I'm Danish, and I can tell that's Norwegian. In Danish the sentence would be: Det er så hyggeligt at møde dig. Danish and Norwegian are so similar in writing that it can be difficult for people outside of Norway and Denmark to tell them apart.
7:06 such a genuine reaction ❤
Maverick, when are you coming to Canarias?
Thank you for the possibility to win the money, I really enjoyed it!!
First time I've seen Estonian on this channel 😁
You were so kind with all the hints... ;)
I always hope there's a speaker of the international language Esperanto
6:51 🇦🇿❤️🔥
Btw Happy Victory Day guys!🇦🇿💪🏻
The danish one was funny. it is written the the same in bot Norwich and danish. So when he said danish instead of Norwich I did not understand anything. 😅
4:06 it is actually Norwegian and not Danish... but I get the fact that they are very close both danish and norwegian
Tolles Video. Ich habe mich tot gelacht 😂
7:30 he said ArmeniaN in polish and georgian in english lol
lol
That was a cool video!
I guessed Finnish, Danish, Dutch and Greek. This last one was so easy, I can't believe the girl though that alphabet was the cyrillic
7:05
subtitles: "ah, awesome😀"
What he really said: 💀💀💀☠️
¿Para cuando uno de "guess the flag"?😅
1:26 Bengali is official language of both India and Bangladesh
4:03 It is not Danish, it's Norwegian
Hint:
Most spoken language in Africa.
-Swahili
-You’re so language skilled, here’s your 100€ (!)
You don’t need any sample text for that 🫤
Yo bro, when you coming to Kansas 😂 I am so confident in my ability to do a challenge of yours! I need a chance! 😁
I got Polish, Catalan, Hungarian, Portuguese, Ukrainian, Danish, Finnish, Azeri, Maltese, Greek, Swahili, Dutch, German and Italian.
Its not danish though, we would spell it "Det er så hyggeligt at træffe dig"
Yeah its norwegian right?
Probably, think the Slovenian/Slovakian is a mistake too. Should probably make sure of such mistakes, imagine if the girl lost out of the money guessing norwegian?@@luke0182
@@Drengen10 I see, then it's because of Lingualizer's answer. My reasoning to guess Danish was the word "hyggeligt", because "hygge" is a traditionally Danish concept, which made me go for it. If I would see that 'æ' in the text I would be certain it's Danish right away.
Well danish and nynorsk (standard norwegian) are extremely similar :D@@sledgehog1
3:12 "I think its Korean"
4:04 that's not danish lmao, that's norwegian.
6:16 - Let me correct you honestly I don't want to brag but that is slovak not slovenian
1:28 If Bengali is from bangladesh then english is from Australia😂😂
Who will explain all this to them?
Very nice idea my Balkan friend.
6:20 - Slovak not Slovenian
Tibetan is a language and its widly spoken i thought!
And you’d be correct. I guess the quick thought is “oh they speak mandarin” and yeah they do but they still learn Tibetan in early school years. Additionally there are many dialects.
Bengali...from Bangladesh :( I guess that's true, it's also very prominent in India (West Bengal).
That last guy is so relatable "fuck"
Some of those easy ones weren't easy at all, and I also don't think it's fair to use the foreign alphabets. He should've put the Latin letters underneath. Greek was obvious, because it's unique. But there are MANY languages that use Cyrillic and IDK very many people who can read South Asian scripts and the average person probably can't read Cyrillic either. He should have written the Latin letters underneath so they could at least know how it sounds and give them a more fair shot at guessing.
yayy my partner is bengali and we love when it gets recognition
I thought it was Hindi because there wasn’t a lot of pointy ones!😤😂🙈 is there any other tips for telling them apart?
@@Cassxowary hehe good question. i cannot read bangla or hindi, i actually just guessed off being kinda familiar with seeing bengali. but, from the challenge text, there’s pretty much ZERO pointy characters which definitely made me think bengali
edit: pointy from the top !
@@CassxowaryThey look similar but Hindi alphabets are more curvy
I recently watched some videos of Sisimpur, the sesame street of Bangladesh (mainly because I've read they introduced the autistic muppet Julia). Though I don't understand the language I like the videos.
6:20 was Slovak not Slovenian!
6:03 was slovakian not slovenian
Estonia mentioned 🇪🇪🦅
6:09 this awkward feeling when you completely understand what is written but you don't have any idea which of the slavic languages it is.
That korea quess face 😀
My guy really said “Tibetan is not a language"
The Maltese phrase at 5:57 means 'Where's the bathroom?'.
4:03 Mate that’s NORWEGIAN! Danish isn’t spelled like that! Nor do we use “træffe” in Danish.
i just love that they put Swahili in there😍🇹🇿
What? Zatancovali by ste si somnou is not Slovenian but Slovakian
1:01 fun fact: this sentence means the following:
The fence isn’t made of saussage.
I'm a Dane... and that was NOT Danish - but it was Norwegian.
The written languages have many similarities, but are completely separate.
Great episode, good job! I think it would be great to see this type of video, but with the same sentence (maybe a bit longer than idioms here) in different languages :) Or let people guessing till they make mistake, so they can win more money :D
Yeah but who's paying all that money!! It's more fun and entertaining for more people, including us, if each person has just one chance.
06:14 Hey but Slovenians don't use "Y" in their alphabet!!!
Hahah I've figured, you made a mistake, it's Slovakian!
Put this into medium:
Kad upoznajem nove prijatelje, baš mi je drago.
And then let people guess, is it Serbian, Croatian, Bosnian or Montenegrin. 🤣
няма значение брат всички на балканите го разбират
7:05 "zajebiscie" 😂
His face though xD
The best is the girl on minute 4:11 😁
I felt that fuck at the end lol
Thankssss to my finish colleagues to teach me a bit 😂
jajajajaja winner!!
Finnish* for teaching* (:
6:17 That's Slovak, not Slovene
Peter : do you still use Omegle?
Nem kolbászból van a kerítés. Ezen behalok. 😂😂😂
Imádom. :D
Yes, Azerbaijani and Tibetan are very similar languages :D
I feel dumb right now I was living my whole life in Denmark but I can’t understand that xD
Around 6:20 it's SLOVAK!! Not Slovenian!!!
#Catalan "S'ha acabat el bròquil": It is used to indicate that there is no more than one thing, or that a certain situation is considered liquidated.
Example in English down below: "Es veu que s'ha acabat el bròquil: el Barça ja no és el millor equip del món" // It looks like the "broccoli is over": Barça is no longer the best team in the world. --> It is seen that Barça is no longer in first position on the scoreboard.
what if 2 languages has same words how would u guess? u would take 50-50%?
Very nice idea. But you should really translate the sentences afterwards.
Parce que si tout le temps des expressions aussi drôles que "sentir le sapin", j'aimerais les connaître.
There's actually a Tibetan language
4:06 This is also Norwegian. The Danish and Norwegian language is very similarly written.
Edit: I guess it wasn't even Danish.
Actually it's _only_ Norwegian (specifically Bokmål). And the language identified as Slovenian was Slovak.
Yeah I figurered, thanks
I knew greek would end up in the easy category but the estonian one was easy to guess if you know some finnish as it looks very similar but finnish never would end up in the hard category
I actually guessed finnish :/
That didn’t look particularly Finnish though that’s probably why
Finnish is hardest lanqueses and btw many hear Estonian and think they re finnish (in south for example in greece happening often)
Tibetan is a language bro, you said it wasn’t but it is spoken by millions of people
The handshake at 6:24 💀
6:20 definitely NOT Slovenian. Probably Slovak ;)
