- Gary Numan - Live (March 11, 2024) in Grand Rapids, MI. A phenomenal 17 track retrospective of the evolution of Gary Numan's amazing career. He put on a GREAT performance despite a pretty rough mix and technical issues (his mic vanished for a portion of this 45th anniversary rendition of "Down in the Park"). In this performance he shows how well he continues to evolve and create like the legend he is. I had no idea there was a VIP meet-and-greet option at this event; having waited 45 years for an opportunity to meet him I'll be kicking myself forever for missing this opportunity I didn't know existed (but also I blame Bobbie Gale of Mixed Media Works, the North American tour inquiry contact person - see comments for details).

Saw him opening up for Ministry in NYC 19March.
I was pleasantly surprised because I didn’t know this extent of his music. He was phenomenal! His band was great.

I was at the Columbus, Ohio show the next night (12th) man I had no idea Gary had evolved so much. I hadn't heard anything of his in years but I was pleasantly surprised and dove into his catalog!
This show was absolutely amazing!!! Meeting Gary was hands down one of the biggest moments in my life!!!

Thank you for this! I was here that night, it’s nice to be able to relive it. I had heard he was doing a VIP at the few shows he’s headlining this tour but I didn’t decide until last minute to go to this show and couldn’t find any info on it… I’m assuming it was limited and sold out fast… I would also have loved the opportunity.
GN dont do VIPs at these gigs, only when he's headlining!

The VIP tickets were worth it. There was only 7 of us at the meet and greet. Was an AMAZING show!!!

I was there up front and it felt like a dream.
When I first saw him perform on TV in 1979 I was instantly totally in. Bought everything I could find for decades. Collected picture discs, made Gary Numan poster for my room in high school, played the albums, cassettes and CD’s until I wore them out. Always dreamed of seeing him in concert one day but never thought it would happen. When I spotted his ‘24 tour was going through Grand Rapids I just about had a heart attack! Number one item on my bucket list - finally did it! 👍🏼 He is absolutely one of a kind. I only wish his vocals had been up louder in the mix that night. His voice is the greatest musical instrument in the band. I’d give anything to have seen him between ‘79-‘99. Miss that Vox Humana synth preset!!!

I'd like to call out Bobbie Gale of Mixed Media Works for failing to respond to two email inquiries (one in Nov. '23, one in Jan. '24) specifically asking if there was any VIP/Meet and Greet opportunity for this appearance. I would've paid any amount to have had the chance but never knew it existed. Only 7 people booked it. I can't tell you how many upset people told me when they learned too late - as I did - that this was an option for this event. At a minimum she could've directed inquiries in the right direction. Gary deserves much better.
His meet and greet was listed on his website for a long time
None of us found it after searching specifically for it. One of the seven people who did book it said they had a very hard time finding it and when they tried to show me on their phone where those VIP tickets were listed they couldn’t find the listings again. They said they recalled they were only at shows he is headlining on this U.S. tour and there were only a few headlining dates. The listed contact person should’ve responded to either of two separate inquiry attempts. So much lost revenue for Gary and so many disappointed fans.
Meet & Greet?. Never heard of it. Sounds dreadfully American- Get anything as long as you can pay for it. Standing outside the stage door of the Hammersmith Odeon in 1987 in the rain waiting to grab a signature or two from the band. That’s what it’s all about abou!
