- Rage Against the Machine guitarist and social justice crusader Tom Morello stopped by the Rolling Stone studio to perform two songs from World Wide Rebel Songs, his fourth album as the Nightwatchman. After the set, Morello explained why he embraced electric rock instrumentation on the new disc after playing only acoustic on the first three Nightwatchman records.

That's just so nice how he always gets excited when talking about things, all kins of things. Always lively, smiling and upbeat.
Ugh. I really dislike the misinformed people that say stuff like, "He's a rich man. He is part of the elite and he's bagging on them..." Please go do a little research. Tom Morello did not grow up wealthy. He's not from a rich family. BUT he worked his ass off and he got into Harvard Law School. He graduated from Harvard Law. There is a VERY tiny percentage of people who can even get into Harvard, let alone graduate from there. So Tom Morello set himself up for success either way. He was good to go either way. A degree from Harvard = Prominent jobs and big money. So he was a self made man. He just happened to go the route of playing in RATM and they became big.
He went to Harvard as undergrad, not law school. Still impressive.
What a stupid uninformed comment on things you do not know.
He may have gone to Harvard but that doesn’t stop him from being a completely misinformed person. He supports communism and the murderous Fidel Castro dictatorship which is astonishing for someone so seemingly well educated.
I guess he thinks it’s ok to murder people with opposing political views because that’s what Castro did and he holds him in high regard. I will never listen to anything by this man again after learning this about him.

Great bands like Rage and Tool... I totally understand when they talk about not rushing their process of making new music and ideas. And even if they don't come out with new music, I'll die happy to know that I've listened to their music and they've shared their knowledge with me as a listener. Their music has influenced me in so many ways and has helped shaped me into the man I am today.
His father was Ngethe Njoroge was the first Kenyan Ambassador to the UN. His great uncle Jomo Kenyatta was the first elected President of Kenya. His Mom is an Irish/ Italian American school teacher. He was in my sister's high school class. Nice guy.

For many years I've been wanting Rage to make new music (And I still do). However, I went to the L.A Rising festival, and my mind was blown, it honestly changed my life. So if they do L.A Rising every year, and they don't come up with new music, I might have to compromise with that.

You people realize that Rolling Stone is an ancient, dinosaur on its last legs? This publication talked about how amazing Woodstock 69' was but failed to report on how fucked up the hippies left the venue afterward. It was so fucked up the hippies needed the National Guard to help them all out.

I love tom as a musician and I think most of his political beliefs are great, except the whole communism part. Not a fan of that. Socialism maybe, but communism doesn’t work. Neither does capitalism though.
