Really liking the design behind the LEDs on the Valentis, might be the best aftermarket design yet. Wish it wasn't just a completely clear housing which is all red though, it doesn't blend with the black strip running along the trunk.
I'd be curious to see how a smoked lens will look!
The GR 86 is one of the best looking cars just stock. Amazing right out of the gate.

Was at the 2013 Tokyo Auto Salon at Makuhari Messe when I saw the BRZ and 86 for the first time among other JDM cars. There was a line of people wanting to see the first gen back then at the show. Great to see the hype is still there!
I ordered voltex front fenders and rear over fenders today, saving up for the front bumper and sides😅

just subscribed yesterday, and have been watching a lot of your recent videos, especially when it comes to the GR86. My goal this year is to buy a GR86 because this a JDM enthusiast's wet dream right now. when i was in the Navy a couple of years ago i had the chance to buy a Skyline R32 for 25,00 at the time. been kicking myself in the rear for not getting it. As much as i love the 90's era of JDMs and their looks, we still have to show our support for the new models or else they may stop making these types of cars for us who just want to have fun.
I will show my support to Toyota this year by buying a GR 86.

Love your videos and how you do them. It’d be nice to see you make simple videos on replacing basic parts like brakes, rotors, headlights, doing oil, etc. on the GR 86. Can’t wait to see more 🔥

Those valenti tail lights are seriously sick, I love the OEM style headlights but these are definitely the best ones from anyone yet

Standouts for me are the Valenti tail lights and surprisingly.. the lip kit from With Corp lol.

I'm so-so on the Valenti. Nice shape overall but looks a bit too busy/crowded imo. I like the cleaner lines on the other one you didn't like.
You missed only one thing on the GR CONCEPT CAR. They also added something on top of the tail lights. I found it through a Google search lol. I thought it was pointless attachment but still somewhat cool 😯

Dude im all about that INGS+1 kit, the wing i might skip for a voltex GT whenever they decide to release it but the rest looks great to me.

Regarding louvers, last gen I felt the same way they are out of place on a JDM coupe HOWEVER, I've seen some last gens where it was pulled off and looked clean with louvers, most often when combined with complementary mods/aero.
Especially on murdered out/all black pallette or the colored car with carbon/black hood, roof and trunk combo.
Depends on how you build the car imo, it can work but it has to look right and flow.
Gettin some tallgeese vibes from the result japan rear bumper area, love it!
I personally love the Kuhl Racing widebody kit. It’s super in your face and hotboy

Haven't seen that one yet, but I enjoyed what they did for the 1st gen!
Gazoo Racing should stick to real performance parts. Give me the wing, wheels, suspension components, brake kit, and front splitter from the GR86 cup car. Stop it with these "sport" lifestyle bits. Let TRD handle all this other stuff instead.

I'm with you on the Louvers. American Muscle? All day. JDM? Eh, rare cases, and the BRZ/GR86 is one of those IMHO. I saw a VA WRX with Louvers and... yeah. To each their own, but I'm not grabbing a set for mine, lol.
I agree, but there are some cars that really pull it off. 240Z and Skylines until about 1976 are two.

I’d like to see an OEM+ like kit. A kit that fixes the side skirts gap (removes it entirely like the old 86 or a better design replacement). Also, the side fender cutout pisses me off. They don’t flow well with car at all. I would like to see the same treatment done there, and the front bumper just needs a grill to be a little smaller (kinda like the voltex kit).
Do you ever plan to start a new build like a Sc400 or maybe a prelude?
That HKS kit looks like it can produce some pretty crazy downforce…if they designed it with that in mind. Would be pretty cool to see what speed difference in the corners you could achieve
They actually did some crazy times at tsukuba with that car.
The LB front bumper has a DK’s 350z look with the elongated “mouth”. Tbh none of these kits really work for me. Over time I’m sure better stuff will come out.
Could you please do a video on what the best Turbo kit out is or rank the different kits cus I definitely want to Turbo mine but don't know what's out there

I don't mind the wing, but I think you need some sort of body kit to pull it off since it's so massive.
Ah crap, I need to stop watching these aero and body kit videos. I want a front lip and side skirts so bad but with my driveway the way it is I may as well throw my money away since it'll tear up a kit faster than I could install and enjoy it😔 Another great video as always though Kevin!!👍

Kevin mate I must admit this year most of the body kits didn’t really appeal to me, I’m not sure why but I guess they have kinda ruined some parts of the platform like adding a stock duck bill integrated to the bumper can add complications to wing design etc like that big swan wing had a huge square as it’s base… looked a bit off to me. I’m keen to see upcoming ones though

at first the artisan spirits body kit was my favorite but now i think the voltex wide body changed my mind, but i do wonder if you could just rock the front bumper on its own with out the body kit! id love to have that bumper but the body kit is my new goal! also wtf is the supra 86 LMAOO

Great stuff but a lot of negativity? Some great looking cars and I applaud the time and effort put into these designs, like it or not. We need designers that will challenge our perception of what a car should look like so, the market doesn't go stale. Thanks for the look at the show!

Have you seen the older result japan kit? It has an sti ish looking spoiler. Havent seen it in your video. Do you like it?
I have seen it around the internet. I personally don't like that style wing on a 2 door, but at certain angles it does look good.
My gr86 is arriving this week and I bought the black color but I feel like it's the worst color of all with after thought :( I feel pretty sad for it now
We’re there any turbo kits announced I’ve still yet to really see any for this car
I believe the HKS car has a prototype turbo kit on it.
Almost all seem to be on Toyotas. Are the Subarus designed different anywhere else besides the front bumper (cosmetically) to make them more popular for kits?
Main difference is just the bumper and some suspension bits. Might just be their personal preference and what is selling more.
@@KevinVo I find it ironic that they’re coming out for the gr86 when many (not all) of us brz owners prefer the gr86 front bumper. We just didn’t want to pay thousands over msrp or wait months to get one.

As a 2019 TRD SE owner, I just can't get into the GR86 body style. Every time I look at it I think of when spongebob got all smoothed out and boring. ("hi, how are ya?") Very few of these body kits did anything to change my mind on that. Some good ideas but none of the kits have really nailed the whole look to me. Some aspects look great but then something else detracts from the kit. Also not a huge fan of the swan neck wing uprights protruding out of the center of the trunk lid, feels like a bad design. But it's all personal preference. These all look dope in their own way, just not in a way that I would personally rep it.
To each their own! I'm sure there will be a lot more designs coming out in the future and maybe you'll see on that catches your attention!
does the voltex gr86 body kit work on the brz equivilent?
Yes it would work as it replaces the whole front bumper.

The only Japanese car in my opinion that looks good with louvers is the 240/280Z.
Anyone know ballpark how much weight one would shave off the car by goin fiberglass body kit?
Probably wouldn't be shaving much weight at all if any.

are the 90s JDM cars, its worth going once maybe twice,
most of the cars are repeats every year fav car I can remember
green RE Amemiya FD, red stanced JZX100 (with yellow Bridgestone cap on dash)
Also that's Kuhl v1 kit they've released v2/v3 which look better imo

As much as I love the previous gen, people aren't as interested in it and it shows which is why I focus on the newer gen.

most of those kits are just ugly, then they enhance the ugliness with big fast and furious stadium seat wings, no just no. where is the adro kit looks good and was not there
The adro kit isn't JDM which is probably why. I'd say there are still kits that are really well done.
