Not specific to this video, but more in general: can you convert all the measurements (sizes, weight) (on screen) into metric system? Would be appreciated by the European viewers a lot I think :)

I'm a touring musician. So my bass is on my back. I need a duffle style bag that can pass for a personnel item if not over packed. I purchased this bag. I wish it had a clamshell opening. it can be hard to pack the traditional way you. A garment folder. etc. No problem if you're not worried about wrinkled clothing. Their old style duffle can do this. It also has no compression, so it always looks big. I just ordered Pakt One V2 to compare. I ordered the 35lbecause sometimes the extra space is needed. I fly around 100 flights a year and this style of bag never draws attention. My bass on the other hand is another matter! Thanks for your videos!

Yeah, was gonna say, wait until the main area gets packed out with a few cubes and kits. I love the idea of this bag for weekend trips or conferences with a garment bag. For the intended use case, AER knocked it out of the park. Great review! 👍

I finally decided on the Aer after comparing it with the Pakt and Peak Design. The Pakt was not much different from the Aer, but at a much higher price point and the laptop feature is not that important for me. The PD was too 'duffel' and did not seem much different from one of my North Face bags.
Not sure yet how I am going to use the front pocket, but this is going to be a great second bag for longer trips. FWIW I purchased the 700D gray option which looks fantastic with a softer feel. The black Cordura looks too much like my tactical bags.
Overall Aer makes some nice products and I also purchased the Day Sling 3 and Travel Kit 2.

100% agree on packing cubes. Wasn’t about that life based on my experience with cheap Eagle Creek ones from a decade ago. Then I tried Peak Design ones. Now I get it.

What separates the PD packing cubes from other options? We have been using a set from Eagle Creek for years and wondering what I might be missing out on. TBH I looked at the PD cubes when I was considering their duffel, but the price for a single cube was tough to pull the trigger on.

@@tkozikow Caveat: My EC experience is quite dated at this point. But what I love about PD: 1) The material is this light weight, self-healing fabric that really does close after small punctures. 2) The compression zippers work really well (my EC didn't even have compression). And 3) There is this nifty divider for clean versus dirty clothes. The only con is that the tear-away zippers mean the top can come undone a bit when really packed out.

Usually I love Aer's design, but it doesn't look good as a duffel.
A good alternative for this one (but more expansive) is the Black Ember Forge.

Thanks for the feedback! Unfortunately those outside reviews required 6-8 gruelling hours of outdoor shooting. Loud trucks interrupted our audio, busy streets interfered with our cameras, security guards kicked us off of properties, and I lost a good 10lbs in sweat for every video. For those reasons, indoor shoots win for the foreseeable future 😂

Would you consider the travel weekender to be an update to the gym duffel? It seems quite similar in terms of look and organisation. I currently have three travel backpacks (Peak Design, Pakt, Fairpoint), but I'm on the hunt for a backpack, duffle or tote that would be at least 25L with Spirit Airlines under seat bag limits (18 x 14 x 8 inches). the aer weekender duffle comes close but no cigar! Specifically for Sprit. I've dropped my Aer TP3 Small right in their box with no issues. IMO if you have an MB Air type of laptop or tablet theirs no issue with depth. If you have a full sized laptop and over pack, then you might have an issue.
For the record, I also just ordered the Aer x Ministry of Supply bag which doesn't really get the CZcams love, but those who do, love it. Only thing is that I believe it's like 22L... 18x12.5x6.5
The TP3S is 28L but is 19 inches, but that inch is the handles which collapse down.
      Hopes that help.
