Russell Wilson has been in the league for a while, he has (presumably) a lot of money, and he may be on his way to retirement. He has a family. Maybe he just wants to be positive and enjoy every day for what it is.

I'm gonna enjoy when russ starts the whole season. We are gonna have every single talk show bitching every week " justin is better, he should be starting" and guess what, he's not going to. Buckle up and be ready to be mad all season long
PIT should try to use Fields as draft capital; if it doesn't work, he sits behind Russ for a year
The runt Wilson will be lucky if he's a backup by week 7.
I think there is a good chance he starts the whole season, and I don't think thats controversial. Of course its possible that Fields really thrives and elevates his game and legitimately beats Wilson out. Unlikely, but possible. Equally, its possible that Wilson has totally forgotten how to play the guitar. But assuming they are both where they were last year, Wilson is the better QB, and that's fine. Since Wilson was also better in Denver than Pickett was in Pittsburgh, this is an upgrade. Perhaps not a huge upgrade, but as we saw at the end of the season it only take a little bit of magic to make the Pittsburgh offence hum.
Mason Rudolph is not a superb QB, right? He's some guy. But he can run the offence competently. And in those last three games, that seemed to be an immediate upgrade. Like, a league minimum backup guy made the offence look competent rather than inept. Not exciting, not dominant. But competent. And that's the level we need from either Russ or Fields. And while neither of those guys are (in theory) amazing right now, if they are as good as Rudolph was, then that'll be good for like 12 wins.
That’s not even the best part. The best part is the more than likely scenario where Russ plays well enough to secure another 3+ year deal to remain the starter beyond this season and goes on to solidify his HOF credentials much to to dismay of everyone who said he was washed. And all the clips of them saying he’s washed are used to forever destroy their credibility
