    Love your examples. As an ex ER nurse, I used to chart just like you. Short, precise and to the point. I have worked with many nurses that feel, and have been taught, that they have to write novels in their notes with lots of flowery words. Not necessary. As long as all the details are there, it's good. Thank you. I'm contemplating going back to LTC and the charting can be very time consuming on top of all the other tasks the nurse has on the shift. I'd rather be chatting with my residents.

      You’re welcome! Being able to spend time with the patients is why I liked being a CNA better in that regard. Thanks for watching and commenting 😊

      Oh wow yes that must be super hard. I can only imagine. Working the floor as an experienced nurse is harder with Covid so I can’t imagine starting off new in that situation. But…it will get better once Covid goes away and things will get easier! Think on the bright side. I’m so glad the video helped you and thanks for watching 😊

    “Patient was found on floor” not “patient fell” just saying. They could have lowered themselves to the floor. If it was unwitnessed we don’t know and cannot make assumptions in our charting state will comb through.

    You can't always notify the MD that easy

    • @NursingWithBenomi
      @NursingWithBenomi  Před rokem

      True, it all depends on how accessible they are to you and what means of notification you have available to use. There is a system called third eye used at one of my previous facilities which allowed you to speak to an on call Practitioner after hours, and most docs in the nursing homes provide their phone numbers in order to contact quickly and easily, since there usually isn’t anything for them to do (in my experience) it’s just a notification in most cases after you’ve implemented an intervention.
