- In September 2019 I was at Rome Fiumicino Airport, flying to Shanghai for the China Tour. It feels weird to watch myself today in this public piano performance, I miss so much playing live! 😕

This is my favorite airport because there are lots of public pianos in it. The light designer of my team asked me to play Bohemian Rhapsody for him on this public piano, and I found out only a few days ago that he filmed the whole performance!

As someone who's learned this song in the past (but hasn't had enough time to add this many additional extra notes), this is incredibly impressive.
MY MAN! That good ol boy looking guy... You saw it the moment he heard the song: he was hooked.
No immediate phone grab, he just stood there and took in the brief moment of brilliance and beauty; then was the first waiting to show his appreciation.
I am grateful at having been able to see the moment, but I envy that man for taking the time to live in it.

I have no idea how you can remember all of that, but it was incredible and thanks so much for sharing it with us. My favorite part was near the end, the music just took me to another place entirely.
Honestly its muscle memory from much repetitive practicing.
@@Dracsbest yes, it’s muscle memory, but you’ve got to keep playing periodically to remember it. Multiply that by the number of songs he muscle memorizes.
I have muscle memorized many, many challenging songs over 40 years and if I don’t play them at least once every couple weeks I start to forget them.
Imagine playing 300+songs every few weeks in perpetuity...as your song list gets longer and longer.
There is not enough time in the day to replay all your songs you’ve muscle memorized AND learn new songs.
But, yes, it’s just muscle memory. ;-)

Amazing playing of an amazing song. For those of us who struggle to get a good tune out of the piano, this is mind blowing improvisation. I can't imagine how much practise and study you have put in to get to where you are. Well done .
