he is reworking the map and everything so things will look better the grinding is what’s good in the game ur actually working for something
Yes , I was surprised to see child -done 2d map that looks like cheap flash game from 2005. Man, game is based on underground travel. It should have been more accent on this mechanics
I have had 3 playthroughs of Volcanoids ( 2 solo) and it is some great fun. I absolutely love this game. And the dev takes ideas from the community to add to the game, which I feel is what needs to happen with any game.
no it shouldnt, community involvement wont help with the product on the long term
@@matheusdesouzasilva9320 int the long term? absolutely, the reason most games die on the long term is because most dont engage with their community and dont adapt good ideas their community came up with
Glad to see an honest review of the game, one thing I didn't know about the game was that you could click through the underground driving section, I always used WASD. I also didn't run into the resource problem as much because I fought so many drillships then scrapped it all hand had way too much loot and not enough storage.
Just a note about the resource grinding: I unlocked the mining drones, slapped two of them on my drill, drive to an area with a mine or two in the area, and wait. Ammo is (mostly) coal and sulfer with some copper. I drive to the starting area and can pretty much just sit there. Doesn't take too long, but I have never had to go mine grinding again :D
this video is perfect for a late night drinking game..
everytime he says "really" you do a shot..
If you are not dead after he finished the video you have won..
Have fun people!
drinking game: take a shot every time he says really
I saw a post that the devs published that only 3 people were working on the game. So, keep that in mind. (3 full time devs.)
Thanks for the honesty. I'm going to hold out on this one.
Earned a subscription brother 🤙
i remember that it had in 2019 only shotgun and a revolver as a weapon
The combat and graphics actually look quite polished to me. What grinds my gears is the tutorial/quest system.
It constantly tells you exactly what to do instead of letting you discover anything, and some of the quests regarding research are really confusing. There's a bunch of research with similar icons so I just clicked around until something finally progressed the quest line.
Kinda wish this game did less crafting and more shooting 😆 I love crafting usually but not here so much.
i took down an enemy drill using just a pickaxe
Because me and my friends may have a brain parasite we love playing this game on a ridiculous custom difficulty and just enjoying the pain. The combat is a bit clunky and the visuals are underwhelming but we never really run into a resource problem. On the other hand raiding opposing ships is by far the easiest way to build up resources. The more people you have playing the more tedious aspects get split up between you so it's less noticeable. Even though the server cap is 4 by default changing a value you can have as many people on the server as the game can handle. The problem is the number of extra enemies that are trying to spawn to balance things out, it's something you can adjust in the settings menu. It does have its shortcomings but I would absolutely recommend this game.
In regards to the ship maintenance, its not much tediousness as long as you stay aggressive, using mining drones alongside the scrapper machine, all my resources come from two digging stuff up, then the rest recycling stuff I grab off destroyed cog drillships, and this happens as mid game too just at tier 2 enemies. Automate some things to an x amount like ammo/materials, since then havent had to manually do much whatsoever, I just move and blap as I please
Also, tbh, it is early access and is still being worked on. It's not a final product and has plenty of time and space left to be made.
@@ozzy424all games who can look much better but it stays fun to play it and still updating and bringing in New stuff. So its cool to see such games developing over the years and be part of it
This is my go to channel for game reviews
Thanks for the vid!
Do plants come back?
the sadest thing is you dont need the driller for anything. its just a base which can change places.
I humbly disagree. There's no way you can complete a game without a drillship, as the only way to access the places in order for you to progress is with a drillship. (Besides, I think the focus on a mobile base like this is awesome)
My friend got this game and was streaming it. The whole time telling us to buy it and play it with him. He killed 2 robots, dug underground, died 9 times. He then followed up by telling us, "ay do not buy this game bruh. Do NOT hop on volcanoids"
Great review. Looks like it has potential. Any update on this. Hopefully the devs take on board the reviews from people playing it.
It has multiplayer
Really really really really really
Really, really and really
Enemy’s are COGs
Looking for a game to play, anyone got some suggestions?
I'm looking for a shooter/action/adventure game for 4 people minimum, we've played games like Gunfire Reborn, Deep Rock Galactic, Grounded, Raft any suggestions? :)
I got the game yesterday it did not disappoint
So far
Also the 2D map takes more work than teleports
I bought it a few days ago, probably refunding it. It looks decent in pictures and videos but for some reason in game everything looks and feels clunky.
Might buy it again in the future though!
"There were times when I thought I would hit a target but it didn't actually hit the target" proceeds to get hits on every target they are shooting at.
Slow reload on a rocket launcher is probably a balancing decision, same with every other game that does this.
I thought the 2d driving/drilling mini game looked pretty cool, different. You can collect stuff as you do it too so its not really like just clicking a button to transport.
Came to say pretty much everything you just said. I kinda like the 2d drill driving idea...
Really?
Really?🤣
"The game is in early access" is a really weak statement about the developement progession.
Strong* you mean? It's an early access game and everyone should know what to expect before hand or wait until official release...
Also, progression*
@@NDHatley1 no I think staub is right on this one I know a game that has been in early access for a year and then alpha for another 3 years so I believe telling/saying how long it has been in development is much more accurate then "early access"
You really really need to stop saying really this much.
stop saying really ffs
Currently I don't care and will play this game.
its early access and your asking for way too much
"really really really really" jesus christ that's annoying
5:30 its only like a 2 hours to 3 day game
I reall was hoping we can drive the drill base with a 3rd person camera, just burrow into the ground or maybe crawl on the surface slowly in combat
