    I had asthma every day for 10 years. Used the inhaler a lot of times during the night, to the point that my doctor at the time advised me to stop using it because my bronchia would get used to it and I would never be cured, plus it could kill me of a heart attack. I told him that I'd rather die of a heart attack than an asthma attack, so, I decided to go to an allergist, who had me under treatment for about 3 years, and it has been more than 25 years, I have not had asthma. When you have a cold, if you have too much phlegm take teaspoons of coconut oil. Believe me, it works!!! Coconut oil or coconut products, including shampoo and conditioner.

    I am going to ask my doctor about using this rather than my Twisthaler. With this delivery method I know I'm getting the medication. With the Twisthaler feel nothing so there's the psychological effect that it is not working, although I know it is.
    Maybe on the Twisthaler there should be a faint mint taste infused into the medicine so we know (or at least sense and feel confident) the inhaler is functioning. As it is now I have to simply take it on faith that the inhaler is delivering medication.

    Really good Inhaler - better than the Novolizer, the Diskus and the Turbohaler. Unfortunately Symbicort (which I am taking) uses the Turbohaler :(

    Oh! You're supposed to puncture the capsule ONCE? I was told TWICE. About 02:13 I NEVER heard the capsule vibrate when I used it.

    I don't feel the medication breathing in. Are you supposed to rinse your mouth or gargle? Other inhalers I've used recommended this rinsing.

    • @francie18
      @francie18 Před 5 lety +1

      You should hear and feel it going in. My information with this does not say anything about rinsing. I usually take this at night and I brush my teeth not long after taking it, though.

      I know you asked a long time ago, but I"m just here now. Even though there are no directions to rinse your mouth or gargle, I highly suggest it! It may be different for others, but when I was very sick with a bad cough, asthma?, bronchitis, etc, I was almost ready for the hospital when the doctor put me on this inhaler. I'm not complaining and will use it ANY time I get to the point of needing it again, BUT... the first time I used it, I inhaled the med and went to bed. When I woke up, I had the most severe case of laryngitis that anyone I know has ever seen. I couldn't make ANY sound for (as well as I remember) about 2 weeks. It was weird! After first using it, I finally felt like I might actually LIVE again, but the whole voice thing.... Good thing I was already retired! Again though, I'd rather not be able to talk than not be able to breathe or cough my fool head off with every breath. After that first dose, I always rinsed my mouth out and gargled, even just plain water was sufficient.

      handihaler contains tiotropium which is not used for asthma. It's normally used for COPD treatment.

    • @indefat
      @indefat Před 8 lety +1

      +john stone What's your question again?
      The side effects of inhaled steroids in an Asthma patient are negligible or not present. It's a life improving drug and it should be use to help achieve control over the condition and the best part is that when there is maximal control of symptoms, patients are stepped down or taken off of inhaled steroids.

    This demo needs to be a lot more basic and more specific, please. e.g. Actually inserting the capsule. How to get capsule out of pack. What does capsule look like. Call it "Puffing 4 Dummies". Do not assume anything, please. Talk to a non-English-speaking child.

    It may show the way to use it but anyone who has used it would know that the capsule is not just dented by the push button but is, instead, doubly pierced. What faith can one have in the video if factually so incorrect. See time 1:43
