Incredibly happy to have finished this series, thank you so much for all the support along the way!
we couldnt help it, ur vids r insane
Where were u and u still play Squad?
@@NeverQuit87 I play all kinds of games my friend, and I play Squad occasionally yes.
That's a clever move against the pirate Wolf for sure, even I wouldn't dare to do combat vent when the enemy is clearly shooting at me at point blank range. What an entertaining series, good work!
“I’ll try spinning! That’s a good trick!”
There's a little tip that helps you a lot when looking for bounties. When you jump into a system that fits the criteria for that bounty, say it's in an orange star system you just get the star type/color, but if you jump into the correct one the name changes to the actual star name in the map, that's a sure fire way to know if you got multiple stars of the same type for a bounty
13:58 traverse jump is a very valuable skill especially for cases like that
edit: and ESPECIALLY here 25:40
yeah i'm surprised he didn't mention tranverse jump, but maybe thats just his play style
That whole remnant fleet banaza at the end made me hurt myself laughing :D
one important thing the game doesnt mention about hyperspace storms is that you can slow down your fleet with "s" key, and your ships can go through them without taking damage.
now im not sure if thats because of nexerelin or that was in base game
Amazing series, really good intro to the game.
Are you considering doing a mid-game playthrough? / Modded playthrough? Recently got into this game and it's been a blast understanding the features
Awesome, glad you liked it! I'm actually just finishing up a huge mod review for Starsector which I've been working on for several months.
If I did a "playthrough" I'd probably do it on my Twitch channel live. For youtube I'll be making guides and reviews mostly.
Welcome to Starsector! It's an amazing game.
Hey, thanks for these videos, that put some clarity on some things. I have actually more or less been experimenting with stuff, but the assigning weapon group tip has been instrumental for me, so thanks for all these videos. I only wish you actually did another one regarding colonisation and late game.
The only issue I have had thus far in Starsector, is that I suck at the combat. Still love the game
@3:50 +1 extra thumbs up for alliteration
Great Series lion I enjoyed watching this a lot binged it in one sitting! I was wondering if you'd be making more advanced combat guides, as carriers are a bit beyond me I haven't found a good tutorial for them just yet and I would like to pilot them myself as I tend to make them my flagships :) plus more tips on maneuvering and taking good engagements would be great for noobs like me haha
Glad you enjoyed the series! I'd love to make more guides in the future, but it might be awhile before I can get around to it. I'm currently working on some mod reviews :D
@@IroncladLion Your fantastic UAF mod review brought me to the game :)
This was an awesome series to watch, looking forward to more content, and would love something similar to this one actually!
waiting for episode 5... patiently
This particular series is done with episode 4, as it gets us comfortably into the mid-game. I'm working on a massive Starsector mod review video that I hope to have done soon (It's already 30 minutes long).
Can't wait to share it!
Well done. Thanks. I go play it now!
I hope you make a fully modded series man. This really helped me hop back in and re-familiarize myself with the game. I hope to see more stuff from you!
Really enjoyed this series, would love to watch more StarSector videos if you decided to make them
Thank you! I'm currently working on more StarSector mod reviews. They take quite a bit of time however so expect 1-2 months between releases.
those 2 missions were clutch
hey i know this is old but, i wish you talked a bit more about skills, like even tho you didn't select some skills you could do some mentions on what skills could be intresting to pick for beginners and don't want look like i want my hand hold but a few more honorable mentions could be intresting
This series made me want to really give Starsector a try and I thank you, and awesome work btw!
19:33 haha you got me :D
liked and subscribed
Huh. You mentioned this whole series took a month to make. Thats interesting to know.
Since the latest vid I worked on and edited took about that long to make too.
Writing the script is probably the part that takes the longest for me. It's amazing how much time some videos can take if they require lots of explanation. 😂
@@IroncladLion The fact that the whole thing is scripted never crossed my mind until you mentioned it right now. I don't tend to script any of my vids. The main reason they take so long is mostly because of the editing process, then adding timestamps.
I'd love to see some more advanced fighting or ship retrofitting tutorials as i still end up going big boom far to often in combat. The new mod videos are great but there is a skill gap between the tutorial and modded that i still can't seem to get past.
It takes time to get a feel for the combat. I'm sure I've got over 1000 hours in StarSector at this point, but starting out, I lost many ships and many fleets even. Add mods into it, and you'll lose many more fights, since you have no idea what you are fighting.
It's why I still think StarSector knowledge is more important that "skill". Just knowing in the first place if you should even bother fighting certain fleets is far more useful than what you could potentially pull off in combat.
I would love to make more tutorials to help out players trying to learn the game, but it's going to be difficult to find time now that the mod reviews are in such demand. I'll see what I can do, in the meantime, enjoy the game at your own pace, and don't worry about losing you ships/fleet, it's part of the game.
@@IroncladLion Thanks for the reply, I think you are spot on with the advice about choosing the battles to engage with. I am loving the mod reviews by the way, even though i am staying away from mods until i get a bit more experience I found the last 2 videos to good to stop watching, even after telling myself i'll just watch the start of the UAF one, I ended up watching both back to back in full.
I really enjoyed the series. Do you play mods? Nexerelin by chance? Could you do something similar for Nexerelin, since it's such a beast of a mod?
Yes my friend, I play lots of mods. In fact, I'm making Starsector mods reviews. Check out my most recent release.
👏😁
Will you be doing a let's play series? I'd very much like to see it.
I'd love to, but I'm very busy. I'll be working on more mod reviews for the next several months.
Hey, Ironclad.
I'm a newbie and have a question.
How I complete raid disrupt the mission. (It specific day disrupt at least 60 - 90 day. And I can't only do 30 day and can't increase the date amount because it block me from raiding said the commotion still down there)
More Marines
@@IroncladLion Yep, thank you.
I keep raiding with my marine until they become elite with 1000 marines.
Even high casualty is piece of cake to me now.
26:03
The feeling when trying to sneak past dangerous enemies 🤣
:)
I can't do combat in this game to save my life.
