not sure if this was already covered by someone else but the short delay between pauses can be worked around by assigning a dedicated key for pause, for example I use "x" as my pause key, the short delay on the most recent mumu clients only happens if you use the default "esc" key, for whatever reason, so there's no real need to download an old mumu version, unless you just really want to use "esc" :p (amazing guide by the way, helped me a lot understanding certain things)
This is nice, even I just Froze what happened last time. Now, I'll learn this trick even just a lil bit is worth from being unimportant
추가 정보 : 미뮤 앱플레이어 7.1.1 버전에서도 뒤로가기 버튼 기믹 되는거 확인했습니다. 가상키 뒤로가기 버튼을 원하는 키로 바꾸면 되네요.
뮤뮤로 하니까 렉 좀 먹길래 이걸로 해봤는데 가능함.

I've tested it on Memu (ver 7.2.2) and the chapter 3 pause trick work just fine. All you had to do is to hotkey the "Back" button of the emulator on the setting, restart the emulator and voila.
SOO COOOL!
This is one of the coolest trick i have seen.

i'm using mumu and i want to ask,
why almost everytime i deploy and pause the operator already or almost on the ground? not flying like the most of your vids.
sometimes when i want to do multi bullet time,the first operator succeed and the next operator is on the ground when i'm pausing.
btw great vids as always!
Maybe because of a input lag of ESC. This happens in most ver2.x.
That's why I use the shortcut to upgrade to version 2 after installing ver 1.x.

Here's how to do the pause trick on android, 1st select the operator you wanna deploy, 2nd swipe down at the fast forward button (if not, the operator you selected will be unselected) , 3rd unpause, 4th bring out your operator, 5th press the back key. You need to this fast or else the 'back' key will dissapear before you get a chance to pause. I'm willing to make if ya'll don't understand.

@@attaleacornell3362 I'll try to explain it as best as I can.
1. Pick the operator you want to deploy, as in tap the operators' photo in the under side of the map (example: projekt red)
2. Press the pause button
3. Press the back/return button on your phone. (This will make everything goes in slow motion)
4. Deploy Red -> press pause (again and again to make sure Red can hit the enemy) -> once her skill is activated press play or she hit the enemy-> tap Red -> press pause again -> retreat Red. (Do step 4 as fast as you can).

Thanks for your tricks bruh, the reason was if i playing in on my android device, it's hard to me tap the pause button and deploy some ops. So i tried on emulator after i look this video, yeah i can tap pause and deploy ops at the same time(i tried on another emulator, i use bluestacks)
I don't know how you managed that but I followed the installation step and the pause trick from 7:40 doesn't work for me, which was what interested me (draging operator while still being in pause). When I try to do that the selected operator just gets unselected.
The best I can do is "place operator -> pause -> select direction" but I want to be able to drag the operator while in pause.
Does this trick only work on CN or Arknights installed via Google Play? (I installed it via ApkPure maybe that's the problem?)
Ok sorry to have bothered, I tried on bluestack because someone in the comments was saying it worked on BlueStacks and indeed it works
Confirmed, the Chapter 3 trick doesn't work for NoxPlayer. I've tried pressing ESC when an operator's sprite shows up, and it doesn't let me drag around the operator. It just cancels the drag. Is it time to change to Mumu
When i try to install mumu's old version, it gives an error at the very end. And even after editing the hosts file, it updates itself when i start it. I'm i doing something wrong?
I've been using Bluestack so far and they have the hotkey to Pause too. I think it should be doable with it.
I'm also using Bluestacks, but the ESC has the same 1 sec delay for consecutive inputs, that's why I use both ESC and the hotkey I set on the pause button. But using the hotkey doesn't work on the method in 8:00 because it just transfers the pointer towards the pause button (without clicking it) while holding an operator.
@@chrisdane2014 I don't know. When I installed it, it's already set so the button X will Pause the game, Space for speed (1×/2×), and Z for Retreat. There's no delay.

Late but can confirm this can be done on NoxPlayer to an extent as well. In Nox's case, dragging a unit then hit Back will deselect them and pause the game at the same time. However, if your unit is already in a deployable square, the app will pause the game with the unit in said square and you can freely change their attack direction. Reply to me if you know a way to work around this as well.
Maybe the pause trick is possible on android with a controller. I tried just with my phone screen and it wont click pause while holding an operator

Do you guys have any tips so that auto deploy doesn't recall/retreat your ops before dealing damage? I was able to do this but sometimes every 7 or more rounds auto deploy just suddenly retreats my operators too early before they even deal damage causing the stage to flop

i noticed there is an chinese doctor on bilibili, he can retreat all the operators so fast by not clicking on the X button on operator, do you know how to do it? he is also using Mumu app player. so sad i lost the link so i cant share it here ):
Maybe He would have repeated trial and error to place a number of virtual keys for deploying an operator where he want.

I fear this might be bannable, devs said that anything that changes the game files is not allowed, but to this trick works, you need to do some things on the emulator, so this is an exploit only possible in the emulator, not sure if this is within a "change on the game files", but at least gives the possibility...
you need to do that on mumu emulator because old version of mumu has esc input lag
this trick on other emulators also seem to work tho

why my mumu cant update to 2.x vers?
can someone confirm whether this Pause trick works on Nox and/or Bluestacks?

There are usually two cases.
1. Netease IP is not yet removed in hosts file
2. MuMu was already over ver 2

Followed all the steps but my mumu app player isn't updating itself when I removed the line from hosts.
in old version, it is usually updated by running and shut down emulator 2~4 times right after removing Netease IP.
@@krem241 I tried that 3-4 times and even restarted my laptop but it didn't work
If there are no problems with hosts file itself, there are a couple of possible cases.
1. MuMu was latest version.
2. There was no feedback from Netease IP, so it was not updated.
@@krem241 I solved it by installing newer version over the old one from their cn site and pause trick works well. Thanks!

Latest version of MuMu can have a lag of input ESC about 1 sec. This is very lethal.

아예 처음부터 입력도 안한채로 깔아봤는데도 업데이트가 안되고 그냥 실행만 반복중
구체적인 상황은 잘 모르겠지만 hosts 파일은 단순히 접근 관련 파일이라 hosts 파일 자체에 문제있는 경우가 아니라면 뮤뮤앱이 이미 최신버전으로 업데이트 됐다든가, 넷이즈 도메인에서 정말로 피드백이 없었다든가 두 가지로 추릴 수 있음
