#glamrock #hairmetal #guitarriffs - Hudba
Such an underrated genre with great iconic riffs and solos.
And I love it so much, it's super fun to play!!
@@DaniloVicari music should be fun to play and listen to...this genre is my fave too.
Siii rivogliamo i parrucconi!!!!
Bel video, come sempre simpatia e qualità
Even worse, sometimes it’s dismissed by media in comparison to grunge, when grunge was horrible as shit with just a few exceptions like SG, PJ, AIC and so.
Don't think it's underrated at all. 80s hair/heavy/glam metal - whatever you wanna call it deservedly gets the props that it deserves amongst guitarists.
i dont get why people hate this genre, its so fun!
got the grit of metal, the style of classick rock, and a general very happy energetic vibe to it
It’s because all the metal heads nowadays just use the music as an outlet for anger and darkness. All the fun bright energy got sucked away from the genre. Part of it was because of record companies, part of it was the arrival of grunge and the rest of it is just that people moved on to other things. Some of us are dedicated fans who have stayed with it the entire time, though. I grew up on this music and he did a fantastic job playing it.
@@philomelodia agree
those of us that got to see the bands and grew up during this time still love it. Its classic, timeless and played on real instruments.
@@guitarplayerlp7018 yes! Exactly so! Right down to the vocalist. These people could actually sing. You know? Sing! Their voice was good enough all by itself to spellbind us without any need for any fancy autotune stuff to help them hit the notes they could naturally hit. Some of the greatest vocalists in the last 50 years were part of the genre. They could do things with their voices that a lot of these kids can only dream of. And it didn’t involve sounding like somebody strangling a cow, stepping on a bullfrog or slowly slaughtering a pig.
Some people dont like the rampant lifestyle these songs prompted, the party goer sleep with anything that moves kinda lifestyle. Also the lyrics arent exactly PG
But fucking killer riffs and solos
The rhythm riff from Lay It Down is just amazing. I love the pull-offs and slides. It's so classic.
Every time I see any of these best/top 80s hair metal riffs videos, I always watch to make sure "Lay It Down" is at the top. That riff is the pinnacle of the entire genre imo. Glad to see you had it in its rightful place! Fun video!
I love Shake Me. Cinderella are so underrated.
But so fun to play!
It might be just because I grew up on it, but this is one of my favorite genres of music. There's SO much great playing on all those albums.
I can’t explain how happy I am to see stryper on this list! Literally the band that got me into rock and roll!
I've been a fan of glam rock/hair metal since the very early 80s. I also love Iron Maiden. This is literally the first time in about 40 years I've ever heard of Iron Maiden being categorized along with Cinderella, Poison, White Lion, Ratt, Stryper, etc... If we're going to label Maiden as a "hair metal band" then we may as well throw in Slayer, Megadeth, and pretty much every death metal band as well since most band member have long "hair"(?)
Love seeing Stryper on there. If you haven't heard some of their songs from the last 10 years, you're missing some AMAZING riffs. They've only gotten better.
I saw them last year, and they kicked 🤘🤘🤘
Oh yeah!!! They just keep getting better!
Nice
I hoped to see 'Round and Round' by Ratt somewhere on this list. But seeing another Ratt riff at number one didn't disappoint.
Loved every minute... only thing I would really change is Crazy Train for Bark at the Moon. But I'm just a huge Jake E Lee fan.
The best era in the rock history. Love it! 👑👑👑🤘🤘🤘
No love for Tesla? Modern Day Cowboy, Paradise, Love Song… they were (and still are) the sound of this genre for me.🙂
Very cool video Danilo and I love the colour of that Charvel too.
Tesla, the best but Tesla wasn't glam.
Finally someone got the top riff right. I often don’t even see lay it down mentioned on top 80’s riffs and it’s madness
Amazing Glam Metal Danilo, I was about to cry when you played Wild Child by WASP
Maybe for the next could be Thrash Metal Riffs 🤘
Viva il metal!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!❤
Wait by White Lion is so underrated. No one remembers them anymore.
Mike Tramp just released a solo album of White Lion. It's pretty awesome
Guess I'm the only one waiting for vito to come back
Stryper! Nice choice. Loved Rock The Night afterward. Such an amazingly underappreciated song.
The attention to detail to pain ain't talkin bout love riff to the left and the reverb to the right. Very well done!
Yet he owns a $20,000 Frankenstein replica and didn't use it. Not much attention to detail.
@Ryan Connell 5150 if you wanna be like that, using the frakenstrat wouldn't not be accurate, ain't talkin about love was recorded on a guitar with no floyd. So the frakenstrat would not be accurate, something like the eruption series strat would be most accurate.
My EVH is not that $20'000 model, I can't afford that and I doubt it's worth the price 😂
Thank you!🙏🏻
Great selection of riffs
Loved this. Bit of an overlooked genre in my youth as I was more into Slayer, Morbid Angel, Metallica etc but now I'm an old man I really view it through a different perspective. Would loved Beat The Bullet by Vain on this list, loved that song for years!
Bravissimo ragazzo.
Grandissimo! Chitarra davvero tamarra ed adatta agi anni 80, soprattutto esteticamente! Mitico Danilo!
Ti ringrazio!!🙏🏻
Excellent! Took me back to those days. Well done!
Grandisssimo Danilo anni 80 !!
Brilliant! Danilo Vicari deserves a signature guitar AND effect. 😀 🎸
Hahah I'm not that good yet, but thanks!!😁
@@DaniloVicari There's a lot of nuance in your playing. Compared to me, you're Edward Slash van Gilmour von Satchel III. I'm not far beyond the Smoke on the Water stage. 😀 🎸
@@RichInternationalAir Haha thanks so much buddy!!🙏🏻🙏🏻
Awesome choices! nice video!!!
Thank you so much!
Well done! Perfect order.
Ti ringrazio 🙏🏻
The video I’ve been waiting for
Magnífico, fantástico!
🙏🏻🙏🏻
I love the groove and snarkiness of glam metal riffs
Magnifiche interpretazioni. Sei maestro di la chitarra. Perdona il mio terribile italiano 😆
Nice! Besides the playing, great video!
Thanks a lot!
Grandios 🤘 💪 👍
Great to see Stryper on the list
They absolutely deserves to be here imo!
Grew up listening to this and still do.
Awesomee!! More more glam 80s!!!!!!
Very cool, as always.👍
Thank you so much!
0:27 OMG I LOVE W.A.S.P., you're the number one!!!
🙏🏻
Bravissimo!
Ratt 'N Roll Baby! Lay It Down is definitely one of the most iconic riffs in hard rock history.
Nice new axe!!!! Those are sick!!
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Bela Charvel. Sou fã dessas guitarras. Tenho duas dessas belezuras
Great video.
Grazie mille Giuseppe, ciao!
Loved the fact you put Lay it down as the #1
No fluff...right into the music..NICE!
Glad to see you got No1 spot on, good choice!
2) Alice Cooper
3) Guns n' Roses
Love the riffs, man! I have to agree with you on the pedals, though. I got the "Guv'nor", and when plugged in to my Marshall Valvestate, I don't really hear that much of a difference to the amps gain channel. But if you don't have a Marshall amp and you still want that typical Marshall sound, then the Guv'nor is the way to go. Rock On!
2:00 youth gone wild! Yes! 🤘🎸
5:27 lay it down! 😎
I have this exact same guitar. What a great guitar heh! love the video dude.
It’s so nice!!
Và come ti é venuta bene welcome to the jungle con una charvel in mano🤣 bellissimo video!
Kick ass as usual. Love the glam metal stuff. We're you tuned down a half step for most of it?
For all of them yes! Except the last one "Lay It Down" which is Drop Db 🤘🏻
I couldn't agree more with your take on the pedal Danilo! The Guv'nor and Bluesbreaker have a history and a great tone with storied users like Gary Moore and John Mayer respectively, which helps drive the demand for these pedals and pushed up the prices of used ones, so that now they are "vintage" ones! But the Drivemaster and Shredmaster? Meh, name me one well known legendary player in the 90s(those models were released in the early 90s)that bragged about these pedals in their rig? I can't think of ANY!!
Exaclty!
Jonny Greenwood from Radiohead has an attachment to the Shredmaster
@@Childofbhaal Fair enough but how other players have searched them out, enough to push the used prices to ridiculous levels like the Bluesbreaker and the Guv’nor? Those player associations pushed those prices up but with no disrespect to Greenwood as I am a Radiohead fan, but the same has not happened to the Shredmaster. Or even that odd Fender solid state amp he used at the time, though that could change at a moments notice like the Bad Monkey craziness that recently ensued.
Great choices overall and top notch execution, was very happy to see Ratt - Lay it down at number 1, very deserving🤘
I would have used Uncle Tom's Cabin for Warrant, love that riff, and Little Fighter for White Lion. still listen to this stuff.....awesome
Great list, man! I was thinking there had to be some Ratt on there, and Lay it Down comes in at no. 1.
Lay It Down - the rightful #1 🏆
Minchia mi sembravi Valentino Francavilla. Poi i capelli erano troppo gialli ...ahah Suoni benissimo!
Lay it down at #1!!! Sick choice
gli Extreme lll di Nuno Bettencourt !!!
Had to watch that 3 times in a row. Awesome riffs, gonna have to play along now till I have them all down. Wife's gonna love this....she's heard worse.😊
Haha thank you so much!
I knew Lay It Down was gonna be #1 before the video even started 🔥🔥
Glad you weren’t disappointed 🙏🏻
My favorite best song glam/hair metal everytime
Totally agree with number 1!!!!
Noooo dov'è kickstart my Heart😭 a parte gli scherzi, gran video come sempre Dani!!!❤
PS: porteresti una top riffs dei Ghost??
Ti ringrazio!!🙏🏻
Honestly im thankful you mentioned Cinderella.
I love what you did, but for Live Wire, the guitar must be tuned in standard D and The Trooper or any Iron Maiden song is not Hair/Glam Metal but "classic" Heavy Metal (NWOBHM).
BTW Glam/Hair Metal bands and songs are not underestimated at all, they never have been and never will be.
There are some songs in here that should be E standard tuning but I decided to play all the songs in Eb so that I didn't had to change tune on the guitar for each song 😬
@@DaniloVicari yeah, I understand especially knowing that most of the songs you played are originaly in E Flat. However you should try a Digitech Drop pedal or a Whammy DX. No more down tuning issues, it’s really a game changer.
Meus riffs preferidos que vc fez na sua versão foram : Dokken, Stripper, Bon Jovi, Warrant, Europe, Def Leppard, Skid Row, Alice Cooper e finalmente Ratt! Congratulations!!!!
Finished it off with “Lay it Down” perfect!!!!
Senza il capellone non suonano così
Grande !!! 😆💪
Grandes Riffs do hard Rock dos anos 80
EXCELLENT.
Thank you!!
Very nice
Thanks!
Sick guitar!
Ikr?? I've been sent it for a demo but I really wanna keep it 😂
Na favola!
Hermosa charvel
Danilo pleased top Riffs Bon Jovi I'm waiting for this a very Long time😅
I know I'm sorry!😂 I promise I will do that!
Keep the Charvel! I've a SoCal ProMod and it's that great!
This was epic
Thank you!!
Stavo aspettando proprio Lay it down, un riff che rappresenta perfettamente tutto il genere hair/glam. Ottima scelta.
Ma Aces High che c’entra???
never knew Iron Maiden is considered glam rock/hair metal ^^
Either Lay it Down was going to be number one or I was going to unsubscribe. Sounds so simple, but so hard to play with that pinky stretch. Well played, as always, sir!
I'm happy you're still here then!😬 Thank you, yeah that stretch is really tricky!
I love how many people find the pinky stretch as the difficult part of that riff. Its not for me. Its the unusual upbeat timing. The sense of urgency it has
are you using an IR Loader /Attenuator for direct recording ?
Figata
Schon's extraordinary runs un-surrpassed, fully wrapped up age-14, riffs wrapped up much earlier age.
Gosto muito desse italianinho . Bom gosto e timbres maravilhosos 😎
Thank you!!
I was a Badlands freak. High Wire had an awesome riff
Lay it Down is definitely #1, but I was very surprised Tesla didn't didn't make the list. Modern Day Cowboy, Hang Tough, etc.
Listen, I like grunge better and am grateful that transition took place and gave us all that music, but at the same time the 80s were a badass time for music, especially guitar music
