Lower Altitude means the air is thicker, and thus there is more drag. This actually applies to all the super sonic jets, the higher you climb the faster you go and the more efficient your fuel usage. Yak-28 is just the poster child for this rule and is incredibly misunderstood as a result.

@@EnderGhost119 it was the original design of jet fighters, after all, to be able to consistently go to seemingly extreme altitudes and not only operate there, but operate efficiently.

you are flying WAY too low. its designed to fly at almost 2k kmh but only at like 30k feet
