      I don’t get the hype for JPG La Belle, YSL Black Opium, and Delina Exclusif..I don’t think they smell bad at all, but they just don’t move me..
      However , Florabotanica and TF Black Orchid, I actually dislike the smell most days and will never understand the hype but that’s the beauty of fragrances. They are completely subjective.

      I agree, Baccarat rouge smells like hair spray, chemicals, synthetic and somehow like a dentist’s office. I don’t think it’s generic, just not a good perfume. Also it seems like Baccarat rouge is only super popular in USA and maybe in the U.K. In Italy or France, most people don’t even know what it is or that it exists.

    Baccarat rouge was somewhat mysterious and powerful when it came out, but it has been copied so many times that it became extremely boring. It feels like the perfume that people get to reassure themselves about their social status. A marker of superficiality and lack of personality. A little bit like a basic Louis Vuitton bag.

    OMG finally someone that doesn't like BR540. I HATE it. With a passion. Literally makes me feel physically sick. I just can not stand it. I kept on thinking something was wrong with my nose but my boyfriend and his flatmate can't stand it either. I just get a sickly sweet, medicine, hospital vibe that makes me feel so queasy.

    I hate Cloud. I've smelled testers from 3 stores, and it always smells horrible. I think my nose or brain doesn't process it like most people. It smells to me like the very cheapest men's cologne that was stored in a car and went bad. I don't smell anything like what people describe it to smell like. I laugh when people recommend it.

Anytime I have worn it he complains that I am wearing “that perfume he hates,” so I will only be able to wear it if I am not going to be around him and can shower it off before I see him. I don’t need him to love every fragrance I wear, but it is such a downer to have him not even want a hug because he is repulsed by how I smell 😆

Ive been told I’m an odd ball when it comes to fragrances, I’ve driven myself crazy trying so hard to fall in love with these hyped up fragrances. I haven’t tried baccarat rouge 540 yet, but I do not like any Chanel fragrances, not one! I do love Dolce &Gabbana original, but the intense version smells like a porta potty to me and the list really goes on and on. I do have some I love and adore which are pure poison, Dylan blue, Tiffany & Co., and a few others. Subscribed 😀 for MFK - I actually love and appreciate BR540 and I know many people don’t feel the same thing in it, having become or being anosmic to the molecules. For me it is magical and nowhere near anything I had known before it. However 100% agree on La vie est belle 😄

    I always hear people comparing BR540 to cloud or Burberry Her but I dislike both of those perfumes so I've never even had the desire to smell it.
    You hit the nail on the head with la vie est belle, just simply sweet and cloying.
    I do like JPG la bell but I think it's overpriced and it actually makes me carsick 😂
    I do like olympea but to me this is such a simple, crowd pleasing scent. It doesn't smell like vanilla to me, just a musky beeswax scent, very similar to Roberto cavalli (signature), in my opinion.
    I still love perfumes but I've lost a lot of interest in blind buying because I end up returning/selling more than keeping.

    Definitely agree on La Vie Est Belle. If I'm going to buy Lancome fragrance it's definitely Tresor Midnight Rose for me. Smells so good. Though lately I've been super obsessed with Michael Kors Wonderlust. I got it from Scentbird and I've used almost the whole vial in three weeks.

  • @MissouriCrookedBarnHomestead

    There used to be a perfume back in the 80's or early 90's called Jordache Looks I think and the Lancome one you mentioned always ALWAYS smells like it to me. In fact, there are a lot of perfumes that smell like that. In other words, if anyone remembers Jordache Looks, it was a cheap perfume, no more than a few bucks. *Looks hard at the expensive perfume makers, "This is not a compliment."* Any perfumes that have vanilla always smell the exact same, it smells like the vanilla perfume from Bath & Body Works. Again, cheap. I can douse myself in a bottle of vanilla extract and get a better response. A perfume I absolutely HATE is Obsession. The dark musky smell of it is so close to bad body odor, sweat, that it makes me gag.

    @fifimsp Před rokem

    THANK GOD! Somebody else who feels that way about MFK. First I couldn't even smell Baccarat Rouge. Which is normal and I felt like I was missing something. I purposely bought the oil perfumery one because it doesn't have the ambroxan in it so I figured I could at least get a hint of what others are smelling. Dude, it smelled like sugar to me. I don't like cotton candy and I don't like this. To me, I like sugar when you put it with stuff, like chocolate. Same thing going on here. Then I started smelling his other stuff. It was either boring or smelled like shit (looking at you Oud Satin Mood). I like Oud and this thing just smelled like formaldehyde dissecting animals to me! Totally agree on the La Vie Belle and these boring scents. They're like "perfume." This is a bottle of "perfume." Like, "soda." Not a brand just that thing done basically. And yes, most fragrances use synthetic notes as a lot of notes, you wouldn't even smell them if they used the real thing. I think a fragrance comes off as synthetic when the bulk of their notes are made up of those types. I hate to tell people this, but a lot of time natural and synthetic is more political vs. reality. Natural does not equal better. Like cyanide is natural, don't know that you want to use it in big quantities. Molecules don't know if they were created in a lab or in nature. Bees "manufacture" honey, doesn't mean it's not a natural process, but we consider manufacture a real industrial process. That's different. Sort of. But in the end, they're molecules. I also think labeling has a lot to do with this. 50 dollar perfume smells "synthetic" and a 400 dollar one doesn't because people perceive it that way.

    I have been your subbie because I like how you present your videos but we don’t have same taste for perfumes. Except LVEB, I love all you hate and I have them all. I don’t believe in “hype” (whether under or over) because different people have different taste. What I don’t like in perfume community now is that it seems like “reviewers” are copying each others collection and just giving same opinion. So boring!

    I totally agree about La vie est belle and Olympea, they're both generic boring in my opinion... I couldn't smell any salty note in the Olympea, it's just plain sweet to me. I haven't smelled the first one you were talking about and can't recall the scent of the remaining two but nevertheless I think it's a pretty cool video!

    I tooootally agree with you on BR540, it's the note that competes with the cotton candy that I don't like. It's that one very annoying note that I don't know what it is.

    @theprousteffect9717 Před 2 lety

    It's difficult for me to understand the hype of BR540. The smokey cotton candy doesn't bother me - it's the ambergris and that bandaid note that I find unbearable.
    I also can't stand Good Girl and think it's heavy and cloying. There's everything but the kitchen sink in that fragrance.

    Thanks for making this video! I took notes because a lot of the perfumes you mentioned are so hyped and I was actually thinking of blind buying BR 540. The only perfume I tried on the perfumes you mentioned is La vie est belle. I was glad I just bought a travel size one coz it was too strong for me. You know that perfume when you spray it on and then immediately want to rinse it off? yeah it's that perfume and I was actually afraid to come too close to my colleagues that they would smell me.

    To much of a melange of notes without a breakdown of notes
