  • Finnish death metal. From the album, "Nespithe". Released in 1993 by Necropolis.
About as weird as Finnish death metal can get. Demilich abandons all semblance of conventional melody and harmony in return for incredibly fucked up dual riffs. The vocals on this record are the best belching vocals you'll ever hear, and way better than all those slam/deathcore vocalists we see nowadays. Funfact: The title of this album - Nespithe, Ne spi the, the spi ne, The Spine!
Track 2 - The Sixteenth Six-Tooth Son of Fourteen Four-Regional Dimensions (Still Unnamed)
    You were born by
    Fourteen Four-regional Dimensions
Their milt and spawn gave your life of various alterations
You know there's no god or belial
Your mission's to show the only way is denial Denial...
All christians and satanists you see must be crucified before they flee
You're allowed to eat every soul
You avoid it, they are too foul
You know there's no god or belial
Your mission's to show the only way is denial
    Still Unnamed ---

Haha. I remember when i first heard demilich. It all sounds normal to me now tho :). Shame more bands didn't walk in their footsteps.

@@Goreface69 Can you recommend some bands that sound like Demilich? I already know Undergang and Cthe'ilist :)

Few bands have imitated Demilich because their style is so distinctive yet so technical and difficult to replicate at the same time. Also, since they only have one album, the amount of material that potential imitators could build off of is very limited. Perhaps it is all for the best, as this is a very unique act in metal and the appropriation and imitation of its style (or even another album from the band itself) would decrease its value as something very special.

The first riff sounds like someone trying to play a generic rock riff but they keep messing it up and accidently making it sound cool
