I heard about Shri Venkateswara university located in UP. They are providing WILP B-tech and as per them we need to attend labs in their college at end of each semester. But how we can verify the approvals for these courses. Can u guide me.
Regarding the recognition part I would recommend only BITS PILANI WILP courses since I did one and I know it’s worth when it comes to job search.
Other University courses are risky anyway the choice is yours KP think well and make your choice 👍

Hello Aruva, Very informative video! I have a question here. If we are employed while enrolling the course and later(after being shortlisted) if we take a career break due to personal reasons, can we still continue the course.

Generally BITS will not allow for a career break unless it’s a genuine reason. They have the rights to accept or deny.
Your course will become ineligible if you quit your job but shifting between jobs is acceptable unless your new employer denies you in pursuing the course.

Hi Aru please check in the BITS PILANI WILP website all the WILP courses are UGC approved but not AICTE.
If you want to do more research please go ahead but I would say don’t waste your precious time!

You can go with the other organisation that flexibility is there.
Regarding the mentor selection criteria BITS PILANI is flexible I would suggest to select a senior colleague who is friendly with you which will help
you in scoring more marks during Assignments

If you are selecting a course inline with your field of work it’s accepted bro. For concrete confirmation write an email to Admission cell of BITS PILANI WILP addressing the same they will revert back!

Yes Kavita it worked for my promotion in the same organisation. You can apply everywhere as a Regular course degree since no where in the degree certificate it will be mentioned as WILP.
During my convocation Dean also confirmed that this is a Regular course and if anyone asked you can declare as WILP. WILP is not a distance education program that’s what BITS PILANI claims!

Hi Prashant I couldn’t get the logic how you arrived 16 months🤷🏼♂️. One year carries 2 semesters ODD/EVEN - 4 Subjects per semester is the pattern. Please refer the BITS PILANI WILP website link added in the description for more details.

I have completed my B. Tech in M.E in 2022. I am currently working as a product design engineer. I want to gain more knowledge in the field of industrial design which is why I want to do a Master's in design but I can't quit my job for a regular degree. I have gone through a lot of reviews about WILP and the most I found was its cons. Can you suggest whether will it be worth doing a master's in design from BITS WILP?
Definitely yes it is worth and the degree is recognised worldwide. Just ignore the CONS I know how this course helped me with my career growth.
Even I was in the same situation to pursue masters without quitting job if this is the case BITS PILANI WILP is the preferred choice!

I told my inputs there are many people who have enrolled this course under my guidance.
Decision is anyway yours. Once you are done you can tell everyone that you have completed REGULAR MASTERS without any hesitation.

1. For closed book exams try to cover the last lecture before exam then will give a hint on what they might ask for Open book try to prepare Index for easy location of topics
2. Lecture ppts and INDEX Page creation helps in scoring average marks
3. Text books and reference text books author names will be given that’s more than enough to score high marks.

Thanks Arunkumar Both MBA and M.Tech Course subjects are much similar, only slight variations will be there. The Admission will open on April 2021 and mostly in the month of June 2021 Lecture schedule will be released!
My personal opinion would be to go for M.Tech than MBA to have wider recognition!

You’re welcome Saran happy to hear that. The classes will not be mentioned anywhere in the degree. BITS will provide you the degree that you have completed this course with your roll number mentioned and for marks too you need to refer the transcripts provided separately.

Hi Sir, Hope you are well. Quick query, please. Do we get the opportunity to choose any elective of our choice for each semester? I was just thinking of a scenario where different people select different electives in a single semester. How did they accompany? I have heard that there would be a voting system to choose an elective in a limited list of electives and the course which got the majority, will only be included in the semester. Is it true?
Hello Karthik all are fine here thanks for your query. Electives are always left to the students choice but there is a minimum student strength expected for an elective subject. Based on the probabilities you will get notified.
Since now all courses are made online the chances of electives being accepted are high.
This electives selection happens mostly in the 2nd & 3rd semester of your course span.

Only if it’s an official reason or a genuine one you can. BITS has the complete right to accept Tej.
But think so you should pay the semester fees even when you have kept on pause.
My colleague had done it for his abroad official visit during the middle of the course. Break is acceptable but fees you have pay.
Hi, I have employer consent letter in an email from my office but not getting mentor consent from my office. Also, no letter mentioning about outside mentor from my office. What can be done in this case? Pls suggest.

Hello Chatrapathi when it comes to WILP programmes BITS PILANI is very clear that No placements will be arranged for WILP students.
Secondly there will be no need at all to visit the campus. Unless you are among the toppers >90% you will be invited to the nearby located campus for convocation.
Students visits to campus are not appreciated since all are made ONLINE

M.Tech WILP programs are 2 years only please refer the website.
Many employees say such things when it comes to degree recognition but if you are in a scenario that you can’t QUIT YOUR JOB for Higher studies then WILP Courses are for you!
I know how it help me and my followers for internal promotion and during job search therefore don’t worry and go for it

Sorry there are no placements arranged for WILP students. BITS PILANI is clear about it

Hello bro before they used to courier individual mark sheet but now everything is made available at students portal and it can be downloaded anytime as PDF.
Consolidated mark sheet will be couriered finally along with the degree certificates.

I am interested in WILP programe of BITS and was thinking to do MTECH Software Enginnering.I have few questions if you could answer them: 1) I have around 8 years of exp is software development would it be good for me. 2) Right now it says last date is 20dec for submitting application so can I know if I dont take the course this year then do I need to wait 1 year for enrollment or there is a new batch every quarter?

Go for it if you are interested it will surely boost your profile 1)Yes just select a course which is inline with your current job profile which in-turn be helpful for internal promotions and during job switch 2) Try applying before the deadline or else you can enroll yourself in the odd semester intake which starts in the beginning of June. There are two intakes every year ODD/EVEN. Hope all your doubts are addressed 👍
Hi Prashant, I have enrolled in M.Tech in AI & ML and on looking at the previous sems question paper I felt it was a lot conceptual which can look as difficult. How is the evaluation during exams? Is it lenient or stringent. Please reply.
It’s not lenient not strict just prepare well and give your best! Many say that the previous year question paper are available in the online portal given by BITS PILANI

Yes that’s there for sure! The chances of failing is very minimum. Try to score max in quiz and assignments

Since I did only MTech I have no idea about M.Sc courses and it’s acceptance for immigration purposes. For MTech it’s a YES for masters equivalence through WES.

All classes and exams are done ONLINE. Lecturers are all well qualified Doctorates. Classes will be on weekends and if missed you can see the recorded lectures.

Here you should have a minimum of 1 year work experience to become eligible. Better we would mail them to have a concrete feedback to proceed further.

Being a working professional you must be knowing that we cant dedicate a lot of time to WILP, so can u please tell me how is the semester examination marking done..? means, are the faculties of WILP very strict in giving marks...?
Hi Sumeet that’s a good question. Since we are all working professionals we should have some flexibility in-terms of lectures and examinations. So recorded lectures and regular/ makeup exams were introduced.
Other main advantage is Open book exam. Since it’s a masters degree, faculties will not give marks just like that. They would expect you to write something relevant to the question asked. Just follow the lecture PPTs to score average marks.

It’s manageable that way… don’t buy all text books during the initial stage, for some PPT alone might be OK.
Secondly focus on the revision classes before exams that’s the one the lecturers will ask thereby informing you indirectly 🤝😉

Hey Nikhil if you are switching company that’s a different form which should be submitted to BITS PILANI. Just ensure that you are not jobless for a long period between the switch or else the course will become invalid

Yes you can Muralidhar just check the eligibility criteria and apply! Think so there will be no issues in enrolling the course. Lateral entry option is also there for Diploma candidates please check that too.
I asked some people on LinkedIn they said "Work Integrated " is mentioned on the degree. Can you please confirm this?
No never “WORK INTEGRATED” will NOT be mentioned anywhere in the degree. That’s the big plus why we can move this as REGULAR one for all our records of employment
This video seems to me as a promotional video of bits-pilani , educating users about the legitimacy of the degree certificate . however i wasted 1lakh on this course ,i say wasted bcos the student professor ratio is obnoxious. quality of most lectures is appalling and beyond poor for so called premium institutes. curriculum is not suitable for the industry and mostly theoretical , some of the subjects are outright irrelevant for the course.Half of the lectures are indirectly encouraging rote learning and not enlightening concept driven which is a shame for higher education . unfortunately most student apply to this course to brag about having masters degree it was my pitfall too. after paying 1lakh my senses opened up and dropped out. degrees does not matter , learn experimentally and practically , much better online learning resources mostly free . thumbs down to data science wilp program

Hi , i am B.tech and working with telecom/IT >10 years. please advise if moving with M.Tech (Data science & engineering) a better option or an MBA (Business Analytics) will be more better . i want to get a Master degree , so confused whether to go for Mtech or MBA as i think doing MBA will also open channel to other industy
I would suggest to go with a MTech for wider recognition. MBA has less chance of acceptance when it comes for immigration purposes.

Hi Vivek it’s not Part time nor Regular. They say Work Integrated Learning Program WILP. Big plus is that, the degree certificate obtained is same as the Regular student so you can apply everywhere as REGULAR and get equal preferences.

Yes you can go ahead and enroll for the MTech course.
Secondly paying your fees is OK either from Company or by own the problem is your company should give an acceptable letter to enroll for this WILP course. Especially in the company letter head format just try to get that then enrolment is not a problem.
I’m a Diploma holder in electrical engineering. Presently working in IT field as software engineer. So my question is, in WILP program btech course is it possible to change branch from electrical to computer or same branch should continue.
Hi Ramesh the actual scenario is to opt for a course inline with your current area of work. If you deviate a little bit they accept, but if it’s totally irrelevant then your application will get rejected.

If you are in a job but switch the job to a different country , while there be a problem whilst being in WILP ( MBA)
If you are switching job to another country just apply as MBA regular one. This is because no where in the degree certificate it will be mentioned as WILP.
If they ask about the overlap of work experience then you can declare as WORK INTEGRATED LEARNING PROGRAM. This is not a Distance education course nor Part time course and this was conveyed during my convocation so please go with this approach

Try to do any M.Tech WILP 2 year course for wider recognition. This will be considered as REGULAR everywhere. Secondly you can clear the subjects easily resulting work life balance & scoring average marks is easy if you follow the lecture ppts.

It depends. Just have a look on the Eligibility criteria on the MTech course which you would like to join. If it says BCA is accepted then it’s fine or else you should give a valid suggestion why you choose this, then decision lies with BITS PILANI WILP side!

Hi Logesh there is 95% chances of your application being selected since complete course is done ONLINE therefore no chances of refund.
BITS PILANI will ask your to pay the fees only after your application is selected. So no worries go for it!

Hello Alind I don’t think so you can find them online since they are not distributing hard copies of question papers nowadays. You can try with some seniors of your field who has taken a snapshot of it.

How does BITS know that the candidate is still working with the initial employer or not?
Does the HR from current employer updates on a regular basis to BITS that candidate is with us or not with us?
Literally based on my experience there will be no verifications done from BITS side throughout the course if you submit your quiz and assignments on time.
If there are some abnormalities then they will contact the employer. Which is when you might get into trouble!
HR has the only role to provide the acceptance letter during the initial enrolment process.

Hello Mahitha there are two intakes per year, one on June and other mostly on November.
It’s very simple and manageable just ensure that the mentor you select is very close to you. If he is against you then it’s a problem in scoring marks for project and practicals

My suggestion would be choose a mentor who is friendly with you. His grading for assignments and project speaks a lot. To be frank he would be used only for signature purposes and will be contacted if you are absent for any important submissions.

Soumya the salary depends on all aspects. When it comes to recognition of degree you can move this everywhere as REGULAR one which is a big plus.
