After an unusually warm spring, we were surprised by abundant snow in April, which caused significant damage. The trees, which were already deep in the vegetation, could not withstand the weight of the wet snow and cracked like ice. Fallen trees and branches blocked my only access to my forest house and I had to clear the road for two days to make it passable. After that, I started with the living room in order to finally finish that part of the house and make it aesthetically pleasing.

The transformation is amazing, a neglected and rundown cottage has become a HOME. This project shows what one man (and his loyal canine) can do, and is a testament to your carpentry/stoneworking skills. The view from the lakeshore is truly beautiful, I could spend endless mornings watching the mist on the water there. Good food, good wine, in a place built by your own hands...nothing better! This is the kind of life we all should strive to return to, simple but content as a result of the labor of our own hands.

If the painting on the wall of the sofa area were changed to a mountain range of large larch forests, it would look better and match the wooden texture of the wall of the cabin you made. Because the painting on the wall is too dark and does not match the wooden feel of the cabin.

Interior decorator as well I see. You do have a touch I'll admit. The whole looks personalized to your taste and liking making it into a home! I'm sure you're familiar with the little felt pads and strips that glue onto the bottom of furniture? They would get rid of that scraping noise anytime you need to move the benches. I keep hoping someone will have me over for a dinner like yours, mouthwatering. Thanks for sharing with us again.

You should always keep a large bottle of white vinegar, kosher, sea or Himalayan salt, as they are great for cleaning & disinfecting. It's a natural degreaser & can also be used to kill weeds. Besides, the salts are better tasting then table salt. Are you going to build a retaining wall for your terrace with the rocks that you dug out? Can't wait to see what you do next.
