So, we're having this debate, and neither Apple, not John Lewis were of any use.
We bought two for Christmas gifts, one with LTE, one without, and the boxes are a completely different size.
It appears that those manufactured in late 2022 during the Gen 2 launch got 3 strap parts, whereas now if you order one, you only get the strap pieces to suit your wrist size.
I think that's how it is, but I'm not certain

Probably is the newer one I was also confused but I’m guessing Apple thinks that people who buy the 40mm version have a smaller wrist then people who buy the 44mm version so they only included one strap size per watch size
