Journey | Xiandi Chua in Ayala Vermosa Sports Hub

Had the pleasure to shoot 2 short promotional videos featuring Philippine National Athlete, Xiandi Chua, to promote the Atletang Ayala Program and Ayala Vermosa Sports Hub!
The idea behind "Journey" came from Xiandi herself. Instead of going with the normal interview shoot, she wanted to voiceover a motivational message for young swimmers. It was borne from her learnings and insights she collated across her "journey".
We didn't have a firm vision for this video, rather we had areas where we wanted to shoot like the gym or the pool. And we ultimately figured it out on the fly, and just winged a lot of the shots. It wasn't difficult to do 'cuz the place looked great and the light was great!
Though we left a lot of shots on the cutting room floor, we did use some shots we wanted to use from "DIVE", and "Journey" ended up almost having a similar story arc, with Xiandi going through her day as a national athlete, ultimately cumulating to the swim in the pool.
