I vote for NEVER seeing the vertical boat out of water again. In fact, hope it gets so deep you cannot see it at all.
It should be removed. Can't imagine skiing and hitting that thing!
As long as people have lawns to water, you'll never see the water that deep.

Those white crystalline rocks could be a gypsum vein (calcium sulfate), or a borax vein (sodium borate) (Death Valley 20 Mule Team borax).

Y'all have probably already mentioned before about the drain that they put at the deepest part of lake Mead back in 2015. It made a world record for drilling and cost something like $ 15 billion. But it would be awesome if y'all made a video about what you think about it.

I think that wood boat looks like a homemade boat. A few sheets of Marine grade plywood, fiberglass sheeting and 20 plus cans of fiberglass resin "Bondo". Paint the inside with Marine grade paint. Not everybody can afford a flat bottom fishing boat like yours. Homemade boat with life jackets and 2 oars. Hand powered keeps a person in great shape.

Fiberglass covered plywood was very popular in the early '60s and MUCH tougher than an all wood boat.

You are 100%, correct. That is gyp. In crystal form not bad. Powder form and get it wet, it will fully dissolve and collapses the soil.

I used to live near a village in the UK called Gotham (pronounced Goat-em to avoid confusion with the legend of Batman🙂) and it was/is home to British Gypsum mines.
The surrounding landscape couldn't be any more disparate than that around Lake Mead, as in it being typical verdant British countryside as opposed to dry and dusty.
Geology is fascinating, our Earth is fascinating.

Im a fan of what ever makes you smile the most! Personally, I love Traxxas and Arrma RC's. My issue with the smaller brand is parts availability, i don't think my local hobby shop carries parts for the other brands.
Great video!! As far as the fish texture I believe it’s the temperature rather than the fish itself. Lower temp will make it mushy. Higher temperature and shorter time will make it fluffy. Keep up the good work!!!!

Californians complain that they don’t have water. This year they have had at least three floods. They need to find a way to capture the water and save it. Also, find a way to take that flooded water and fill Lake Mead.

11:00 That is Gypsum, they have a plant just on the backside of Lake Mead 5 mins from my house where they mine and process Gypsum and turn it into Sheet Rock.

I remember my grandma who was a world class rock hound & collector had some of the crystals like you found when I was a young kid. I was trying to clean one off & polish it & I ended up melting half of it with the water I used. I never did tell her. 😊

would be great for an update on the old military landing craft that was exposed during the drought. Another artifact worth checking would be old Bomber that crashed in the lake. During the drought, it became more accessible to divers . It would be interesting to know what it' s depth is now

We used to build Fiberglass over plywood boats in the 1950s. By 1960 most boats were were molded in solid Fiberglass.
