    Why people don't understand ulip is discipline form of investment unlike mutual funds. You redeem mutual funds for any emergency and hence you cannot create wealth as you keep on taking out ur investments once you know there is no lock in. Ulip is always a better investment if you see the habit it creates in you and talking about 2-3% less return, i would still prefer to go with it as atleast i m continuing my investments without any break. N in long term equity has always proven to give returns compared to short term.

    • @halvincarris
      @halvincarris Před 4 měsíci

      Isn't SIP also a form of discipline. You can do that in mutual funds and get better returns than ULIP.

    • @visfotakvideos5202
      @visfotakvideos5202 Před 4 měsíci +1

      @halvincarris He is talking about the discipline of not being able to take out money, not putting in the money. Hope this makes sense.

    • @halvincarris
      @halvincarris Před 4 měsíci +1

      @@visfotakvideos5202 No, it absolutely makes no sense. In MF there is an exit load too which prevents you from taking out money, in ELSS MFs there is a 3 year lock-in too. In addition to this people generally take out their money when they need it for an emergency which is obviously not possible in ULIPs. Now consider if one has lost their job or is hospitalized, do you think they should be focussed more on the "discipline" of investment or use their own money to pay the bills? This is where MFs clearly outshines ULIPs in addition to giving better returns and also giving the flexibility to tweak the SIP amount as per your income source and financial condition. Not being able to withdraw or use your own money is not called "discipline", its called stupidity.

    • @visfotakvideos5202
      @visfotakvideos5202 Před 4 měsíci +2

      @@halvincarris I get what you you mean brother. On paper you are absolutely correct. But in reality Mutual funds are the first ones to be taken out even in non emergency situations. For example, it would have made more sense for me to take a loan and not touch my Mutual funds while we were looking to buy a new property (the math I did made it very clear). But what did I eventually do? I took money out of my Mutual funds, why? Here's the "dumb" justifications,
      1) The rate of return calculation is always an assumption
      2) The credit line I didn't use, I might use it in the future
      3) I didn't want to take debt when I already had the money etc.
      As you can see, logically it made more sense to not take money out of Mutual funds, but we are humans and there are always other factors that sway our decisions. I also had a ulip, which I didn't even consider, you know why and thus the world "discipline" or should I say "forced discipline ". 😛

    • @halvincarris
      @halvincarris Před 4 měsíci

      @@visfotakvideos5202 I understand your point, and even you are using the word 'dumb' for your very own decision (I'm not trying to belittle you btw) but I think this is more of a mental conditioning we've seen in this country where we believe using existing money is better than taking loan - perhaps because loans have traditionally been very expensive. Whatever be the reason, I think financial understanding and education can help here rather than giving away our very own hard earned money in the name of charges/commissions to these greedy insurance companies who are quite literally just stealing away the returns. That's why I am advocating mutual funds because a mere 1-2% difference is phenomenal in the long run (like 20-30 years).
      I even suggest that people should always figure out their emergency needs before investments like setting up 6-8 months of money in FD etc. But you have to agree to the point that life these days is extremely uncertain and in genuine emergencies it's important that we at least have access to our money instead of running pillar to post to get a ULIP liquidated which btw is still dependent on the mercy of the insurance company.

    Hi yogi ji, I am seeing many videos on ulip vs mutual funds purely on investment basis(not caring about insurance benifit), many ulip supporters are saying that, 4th generation ulip plans have much less expenses, when u want to invest for longterm(like 20yrs), they are saying ulips will give better return than MF simply coz, after 5yrs they start to give you loyalty bonuses and return charges on maturity, no tax on final amount
    So as you made this video 1year back,with these new ulip plans coming, still MF is better strategy than ulip for longterm on investment purpose??

      It all depends on your pay term. I have taken icici pru money back term plan till 75 years. My age is 35. My pay term is 10 years with monthly. Pm premium is 5821. Till 10 years I have to pay 5821 pm. Total premium 6.28 lac. If I survive till 65 I will get my premium back. Still life covered till 75.
