Considering your appeal to the "West" having some sort of self hatred, you do realise that Christianity is actually a Middle Eastern religion? Also I think it's a good thing that our European culture is increasingly not based in a two thousand year old story about how an omnipotent God needed to have a son with a virgin who didn't give any consent beforehand, and simply had to do nothing to stop his son from death through torture even though he supposedly could as a really fucked up way to forgive us humans for how flawed he designed us to be.
