I think your channel has serious potential man. talk a bit slower and really paint the scene with your tone. tell your script like the story it is with both the peaceful and tranquil periods of prosperity, and the fierce, crescendo moments of battle.
there is nothing wrong with a 30 minute video of properly emphasized and beautiful recounting of history like this.
if you want some ideas view some campaign storytelling from age of empires. Keep up your content ❤

Thank you I appreciate your words massively , underserved niche of history I feel. I will definitely try and slow down pace in the next video. I may also ask my very small viewership what video theyy want to see next, I'm trying to avoid the well known sites such as Dover and Tower of London until I feel my editing and story telling is good enough, Any ideas? I may do Colchester as it's local and I know it very well

The portcullis looks quite similar to Alnwick castle

I used an image of a different portcullis when explaining what one is, so it may well be

I'll subscribe and give it a shot; but like the post below says slow down the talk speed and add inflection you sound like AI and people don't like that. People do like castle stuff so keep going.

Sorry, I use the CZcams auto subtitles, and it's been getting a lot wrong in spelling as it detects the word itself, I will do subtitles manually in future. I am also looking into better research for some of the pronunciation

One thing your research has missed is the correct pronunciations of people and place names! These can be quite difficult around the North East! Otherwise a good history summary

Also I will do extra research in this area, it's prominent in north England and the Scottish border, a good example is dunstanburgh and bambugh castle, the popular show last kingdom pronounces bamburgh as bam - berg but dunstanburgh is pronounce Dunstan - borough, very confusing but something I want to clear up and get accurate

@@CrazyAboutCastles-ly5pw Actually Although spelled differently Dunstanburgh and Bamburgh are pronounced the same as you said they are both Borough at the end, Another misspelling, but not one I recall from you is the river Warkworth stands by, The river COQUET, This is pronounced COKET, ALNWICK is ANICK, ULGHAM is UFFAM. I could go on all night but I thank you for being so willing to get the right pronunciation's for your channel, You have just got a new sub!!!
