The role of AI in retail? Fighting crime.

Researchers at the University of Florida are developing new ways to combat retail crime with artificial intelligence. Read Hayes, a research scientist and criminologist with UF's Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering, is working with an AI simulation lab able to replicate retail environments with precise control of all variables, including the number of customers and employees within the simulated store.
