Lucas may have been bad in Brawl but he did something even more important when he joined the game. He introduced fans outside of Japan to Mother 3.

Lucas has always been some type of main of mine since brawl so I was so hyped that PM made him good, although he’s probably gonna be a secondary I still love him
Same but he is good in smash ultimate( he was already good since smash 4 but smash 4 Lucas feels weird) pm Lucas is awesome
@@Cutzerella03 ehh Ultimate Lucas has to compete with absolute cheese such as big ass hit-boxes, comeback mechanics that save character’s viability, and characters that have gimmicks, while the only real cheese he has is Up Smash invulnerability for 8 frames and PK Freeze
@@lucrativelucas2655 down smash is technically more of a cheese tool than freeze since it hits below platforms and gets bigger each multihit. You need more than just cheese in ultimate lol. I have been a Lucas main in ult as well as for it's entire life cycle and it feels way more playable than smash 4 lucas. It feels more like a functional brawl lucas compared to smash 4 cause more of his smash 4 nerfs got reverted and he has that wavebounce mixup floaty feel but has a quick frame 23 shorthop fastfall cause of his low jumps and engine buffs
Despite being completely different in PM, Lucas and Ness still do have a couple similarities, like their neutral specials being moves they canonically use in their games and side specials that could counter one another

One thing you didn't mention about Multimag is once you get the timing down on it, it will literally destroy a shield. It's insane shield pressure that either forces the opponent to drop shield and get hit, or eventually be shield poked. There is no way out, and he can just wavemag a safe distance away anyway. Super cracked character.
magnet is really broken but you can buffer roll out :)
In singles his worst attribute was the 10 extra grab release frames, which negated his great buttons & range for his size.
In doubles, Lucas was extremely dangerous with a partner who could heal him or enable footstool combos from his dthrow, which lead into dtilt jab locks across the stage.

This is the fault who Developed Lucas's Moves. İf this game were balanced then tier list doesn't Exists.
But when Develeopers have their Favourite Character they re making their Favourites Strong usefully fast And adds Pioneer Attacks. İ think Lucas's Format Creator Hates Lucas probably. This is reason why Lucas had a Bad tier. But Lucas did nothing for Deserving that. That feels like giving Bad presents to who more deserve Most good Presents. BTW We all know that Lucas's Personal ability is Psychic. This power is Universal and having lots of ways to use. But they re İnsulted that and their toxic ideas makes Lucas Bad tier.

I actually enjoyed this video as I second mained lucas in brawl and sm4sh, and to see him in PM wants to make me play it even more! Once again, great video honest!

Great video! However I dont think saying "Lucas is better now because they made him taller than Ness" for 10 minutes and 13 seconds is a fair argument.
Love this! Thanks for looking into Brawl characters like this. Do you plan on doing this for Melee characters that are in Brawl as well, or will you just stick to having a Brawl section for characters introduced in that game? I'd love to see Sheik or Pokemon Trainer next too!
I feel like it's not generally worth it for Melee vets in Brawl because most of them can be summed up as "similar to Melee, but the engine no longer works, now they suck/are lame." For example, while Falcon did have some dumb changes like the knee no longer killing, he's not that different outside of Brawl's context. The problem is that Brawl doesn't allow real combos characters like him depended on and ground movement is a pipe dream if you're not Fox or Marth (they can't dashdance or wavedash, but they can walk and they walk *good*), so he just has nothing.
On the other hand, someone like Marth is just an inherently good character like Meta Knight and the engine being broken didn't bother him since he's still a swordie and swordies are privileged by nature, he's just lame now because it's Brawl.
I love the tech of throwing the PK Fire backwards and then magnet in the air backwards
I swear pm lucas is my favorite fighting game character ever. Hands down

So he went from a character semi-clone to a significantly more modified clone that acts as a glass cannon rushdown... He got the Ken treatment. Also doesn't help that he's the blonde one and the character that he's a clone of is black-haired

Why not ult Lucas in akaneia? Also yes pm Lucas would be cool but he doesn't have to be the same
@@Cutzerella03 i didn't play much ultimate, but i actually did enjoy lucas there too. I think those specials are cooler than what he got in PM. Idk anything about the lucas meta now, but i played him like a zoner, and i personally enjoy a more rush down style in melee. Mixing both versions together could be great, and im sure the akaneia team will do a great job if they try to add lucas

lucas has SO many unexplored tech in brawl, but the weird thing is he is just so slow and grabbable. i wish he was better. sure in utlimate he also has great tech, but in project m he's SO cool! especially his rushdown combos and down air!

İf that was in Lucas 's Hands he would be stronger than met knight 5 times and had a SSSSSSSSS+++++ Tier. But decision when belongs to stupid Developers so this bad Brawl Thing happened.
2:44 this is really Annoys me a lot other characters are easily dodge this and Their Recovery is doesn't do this Betray but this is why i hate Brawl Developers.

Try PM Ness. I liked Brawl Lucas a lot, and wasn't really good with PM Lucas. But PM Ness has some similarities to OG Lucas from Brawl.

Ok smash geyser and pk blow aren't meant to be their own unique psi attacks they're just generic names given to different ways Lucas uses pk love in smash. I agree a bit better representation of the skill could be nice but I think up smash is fine the way it is since the animation is inspired by Lucas pulling a dragon needle and releasing tons of psi power

Expected from a mod who is essentially Melee 2.0 even to the most irrelevant details like charged smash attacks (From 1.4 to 1.41...... for no reason).
Basically yeah. I competed in PM events from 2012-2016 and honestly, was fun af. even DK and Bowser was very octane

Yes. There is zap jump tho. Brawl does have airdodge cancel tether tho and Ultimate Lucas has double jump cancel zair
Oh yeah, Brawl's tier list is also as bad as Melee.
Expect that Brawl's tier list was ordered purely by how well each character did against Meta Knight because if how dominant he was.
