Still waiting on that Prime Prodigy HLP Selectorized / Prime Functional Trainer comparison to drop! I'm trying to decide which of the two is a better use of my money. Is it a better option to purchase the FT for someone who performs a lot of accessory / isolation movements with cables, and pair it with a full rack? Or going with the all-in-one Prodigy HLP Selectorized rack which allows for a half rack, lat pulldown, and seated row, and various other options which would ultimately reduce the need for future machines. I like the fact the FT can virtually take you in any direction you're wanting to go vs. the Prodigy rack sitting in more of a fixed position only really going in a vertical direction up/down. I would very much appreciate you voicing your opinion on this topic, as I've not seen a whole lot of home gym owners who have experience with both pieces of equipment. Thank you!
Thank you! I have a ton of plates already and I figured I’d save $1000 by not getting the selectorized. Some times saving money doesn’t save you from everything else that comes with the reduced cost. Overall still a good machine, just a slight inconvenience to change plates
Regarding the leg machine, what effect do you get if you split the weight and place multiple smaller plates on two different pins instead of all on one?
If you put weights in the middle position as well as the top or bottom you will just get a different resistance curve similar to just the bottom or the top. Meaning it will be similar but more gradual. If you put weight at both the top and bottom you would just be cancelling the two out and it would be as if you were just putting weight on the center horn.
Thanks mate, one more question. I believe you said that your HLP rack had a 1:1 ratio on the high pulley but everything on their website only references a 2:1 configuration. Is the 1:1 an off menu selection?
I came to the video for Prime Fitness reviews but thx to the convo during the 11 min mark I left with much more. Thank you
Awesome! So glad that you enjoyed it
Your Curl Rack / Storage station is very smart! love that. Thanks for the thorough review of the Prime piece.
Awesome. Glad you like the curl rack and the video!

Hey, love the gym! Why did you go for the plate-loaded Leg Ext/Curl over the selectorized?

@@edwardoaguinaga7803 the adjustable low pulley is 2:1 or 4:1. The High pulley is 1:1, it comes standard.
