Keighley and Worth Valley Railway Spring Steam Gala 2023. 10/03/2023

The Keighley and Worth Valley Railway held their Spring Steam Gala between 09/03/2023 and 12/03/2023. The event featured 3 visiting locomotives in the shape of:
LMS Black Five 4-6-0 No 44871.
LMS Black Five 4-6-0 No 45407 The Lancashire Fusilier.
LMS Jubilee 4-6-0 No 45690 Leander.
as well as several members of the home fleet. However, on the second day. A problem emerged in the shape of overnight snow, this meant that the timetable was modified meaning that the demonstration goods was cancelled. However, we still got passenger trains during the event in picturesque scenes through the Worth Valley.
0:00 We begin at Keighley which like the rest of West Yorkshire is covered in a blanket of snow. Volunteers at the railway spent some of the day clearing the platforms.
0:37 LYR Class 25 Ironclad 0-6-0 No 52044 arrives at Keighley with the first train of the day, it then runs round to the front where it will be joined by Taff Vale 02 0-6-2T No 85 which is filling in for LNWR Coal Tank 0-6-2T No 1054.
2:26 At Damems Loop, LMS Black Five 4-6-0 No 44871 passes with a service for Keighley. This engine was one of 3 surviving 15 Guinea Special locomotives.
4:02 Taff Vale 02 0-6-2T No 85 and LYR Class 25 No 52044 depart Oakworth towards Oxenhope.
5:03 A Fireplace interlude at Oakworth. Very useful in this kind of weather.
5:16 Heading back towards Keighley, we again pass LMS Black Five 4-6-0 No 44871 at Damems Loop.
6:01 LYR Class 25 0-6-0 No 52044 and Taff Vale 02 0-6-2T No 85 depart Ingrow West towards Keighley.
6:42 LMS Jubilee 4-6-0 No 45690 Leander arrives at Ingrow West with a service for Oxenhope.
7:39 From the inside of carriage, we see LMS Jubilee 4-6-0 No 45690 Leander depart Oakworth towards Mytholmes Tunnel.
10:24 LMS Jubilee 4-6-0 No 45690 Leander runs round at Oxenhope.
11:04 LMS Black Five 4-6-0 No 45212 and LMS Jubilee 4-6-0 No 45690 Leander depart Haworth with a service for Keighley.
12:15 Ourside Haworth Station.
12:27 Inside Haworth Yard, we see LMS Black Five 4-6-0 No 45407 The Lancashire Fusilier, LNWR Coal Tank 0-6-2T No 1054, BR Class 08 Shunter No 08266 and BR 4MT 4-6-0 No 75078.
12:47 LMS Jubilee 4-6-0 No 45596 Bahamas heads past Haworth Depot with a service for Oxenhope. You get a decent view of its double chimney.
13:58 LMS Jubilee 4-6-0 No 45596 Bahamas departs Oakworth with a service for Keighley.
14:49 LMS Black Five 4-6-0 Nos 44871 and 45212 head through Oakworth with an express for Oxenhope. On the rear is LMS Jubilee 4-6-0 No 45690 Leander.
16:30 LMS Black Five 4-6-0 No 45212 at Keighley. It is waiting for LMS Jubilee 4-6-0 No 45690 Leander to couple onto the train in Platform 4 before backing into Platform 3.
16:42 LMS Jubilee 4-6-0 Nos 45690 Leander and 45596 Bahamas double head a passenger train out of Keighley towards Oxenhope.

The one thing I kept telling myself during the day was "I must be mad for doing this". I think it was the 2nd Worth Valley Gala I attended where it snowed, the first was the one with the Super D.
