This bus was retired in 2015.
From 1986 to 1994 the Verkehrsbetriebe Zurich/Switzerland (VBZ) procured 79 trolley buses of type MB O 405 GTZ (Gelenk-Trolleybus Zurich).
The buses had 205 kW (278 hp) electrical equipment from Asea Brown Boveri (ABB), as well as a 72 kW (98 hp) auxiliary engine (Mercedes-Benz diesel 5 cylinder) that drove the center axle.
The Zurich models were also equipped with an eddy current brake.
In addition to the Verkehrsbetriebe Zurich (VBZ), the Winterthurer Verkehrsbetriebe also purchased MB O 405 GTZ trolleybuses.
The MB O 405 GTZ buses in Winterthur have been replaced by buses of type Swisstrolley and Lighttram.
In 2015, the buses No. 106, 122, 132 and 141 were still in use in Zurich, mostly on lines 34 and 46.
