In her recent shiny hunt stream, Kaela gets two shinies in relatively quick bursts (16 minutes in, then 33 minutes in). Motivated by such fortune, she presses on again and again. Until she finds herself with 6 shinies; a rate of 1.5 shinies an hour. And it could have been even higher without the hour long "dry spell."
This is also an example of the power of "one more," with her almost calling it quits by the fourth shiny. But by prolonging the stream just a bit more, she is able to get the remaining two swiftly afterwards. There is a balance, though. Make sure to try your best, but at the same time, make sure you don't compromise your health too much in the process.

It's not actually Crit Catches. The game just "skips" the 3 shakes if it's going to catch something you already have.
