While many argue that Sabah is part of the Philippines, as Filipinos we should stop pursuing to reclaim a land that no longer belongs to us and never belonged to us. This land belonged to the Sultanate of Sulu and not the Republic of the Philippines. We struggle to fight China from taking our islands but do the same thing in Sabah, the people living there clearly favors to live under the jurisdiction of the Federation of Malaysia, and as a people of a free and democratic country, we must respect and recognise the Sabahan people's right to choose. They have already decided to remain in Malaysia. It is hypocritical for Filipinos to even think about reclaiming Sabah, any Filipino who thinks like this does not exhibit the values and principles that our nation stands for. @hopelope1703 The heriditary of Sulu Sultanate won in 2022 and Malaysia won that case 2023. So what? It means that the previous claim have justifiable cause that is why the previous court had awarded the daughter of the sultanate in 2022. The only problem is the Philippines as a country is not enforcing it and did not support the daughter because the Philippines don't want a squabble with Malaysia. Nad Malaysians take advantage of that. What would one person do against enforcing her heriditary rights against a country who don't want to accept it? As a Filipino, I am not also interested in having Sabah as part of the Philippines cause it will do more harm than good but Malaysia should also learn to respect the rights of ownership of a person with her ancestor's land. Vietnam also did that backstabbing with the Philippines by fooling the stationed captain in the Spratly's island rightfully owned by Philippines by having a gentlemans agreement then after backstab him and claim the whole island as part of Vietnam. What did the Philippines did? Nothing cause it will do harm than good. Our neighbors were really not good neighbors after all.

The Philippine educational system should also include the British, not only for their brief invasion of Manila but also for their illegal occupation of North Borneo, which rightfully belongs to the Philippines. Additionally, Germany should be mentioned due to its historical connection to Palau. The Japanese colonization period should also be extended to include their pre-World War II occupation of Palau. The Philippines must revise its history curriculum because without an accurate understanding of our past, Filipinos cannot effectively assert their legitimate claims to their true territories.

No, Philippines was part of Sriwijaya and Majapahit Kingdom

    • @markjosephbacho5652

Much of what we know about Srivijaya though are stolen records about San-fo-qi (Sam-fu-tsai), ie, "Kamboja", the ancient Cambodian Empire of Angkor. Historian Liam Kelley already has papers about that. Srivijaya, as an Indonesian empire, is a hoax!
Beside the mention of the polities "Saludong" and "Solot" (commonly equated with Selurong/Maynila and Sulu) in the Javanese text Nagarakertagama, we have no other records that the premodern Philippine kingdoms were tributaries to Majapahit. NADA.
Wouldn't it be better to be proud of the kingdoms that existed in our territories than that of nearby countries?! Butuan Kingdom was known as a kingdom of gold and spices. Sulu was known for its South Sea pearls. Mait for its cotton and edible birds nest. Stop the inferiority complex!

Philippines is smaller than it was before because it had been divided and conquered in the past, and we have no interest in reclaiming these disputed territories by force as long the people are treated fairly. They are free to make their choice and we will welcome them back with open arms if they choose to come back to Philippines.
