    Jay: long pause... let's take a look at the trunk!

    • @Dany_23L
      @Dany_23L Před 2 lety +5

      ..and in the trunk was a map of Germany when Poland, Austria, and a bunch of other coutries were Germany. A manifesto found detailed plans to take over Palestine using two horses. One with Hitler (Jewish/Polish heritage ;p ) destined to fail (ended up in Argentina with other Jewish Nazi's, it is what it is), so false compassion would get a bunch of Germans from the state of Poland into the (greater) Syrian motherland, Palestine. Make no mistake, that's real history. Had Lebanon not been separated from Syria, courtesy of the French, Syria would have 2 major capitals in Beirut and Demascus, like California and New York. Fyi Tabouli and Hommus isn't German/Polish/Jewish.
      - Protocols of the elders of Zion. Good read, even though they (Israeli's) say it's plagiarised, it's transcribed actually. Big difference. One gets the orginal text's information across to the public, the other makes no difference unless you're submitting an assignment.
      Excuse the non-twitter long-form explanation.

      totally agree on the front end. Total Honda Civic. Surprising they didn't do more work on the grill/nose area to make it pop and feel more elegant and maybe even do something like flush mount chrome trim down the side of the car. I'm sure it will evolve, though. Crazy future potential... the front of the car will be an LED screen and you can program or buy mods for the front look and the car can have whatever look you want on it.

    I wish they could have gotten the beltline a bit lower. The side windows start so high up, especially for the rear seat passengers, it seems like it would be a little claustrophobic, and the back glass is tiny for a full-size luxury car. I know safety regulations are a limiting factor, but if they would sacrifice a bit of the angle (which would admittedly hurt external styling), I think it could be improved upon. If designing a more open-feeling greenhouse were to also cost a few miles of range, that might be a worthy compromise as well.

    • @stasiekpiekarski

      @@avsystem3142 Firstly, it is a fact not an opinion so making no sense is not applicable. Secondly, envoking a specific number may suggest that the car is efficient or eco-friendly. I haven't said that getting low cd is not an engineering achivement. However, it is not a goal in itself but rather a way of getting lower energy consumption. Low cd is necessary but not sufficient. There are four main factors behind the drag forces: Cd and frontal area for aerodynamic drag and mass plus rolling resistance coefficient for rolling drag. To put it into perspective, a brick has lower aerodynic drag than this car due to low frontal area.
      Speaking of aerodynamic losses, splitting cd from the area is a common practice but it just darkes the picture and is just a marketing activity. The last sentence contains an opinion which you may agree with or not. Don't dispute facts.

      @doncorleaaron Před 2 lety +9

      @@stasiekpiekarski is somewhat right about drag coefficient can be mis conceiving when comparing the overall drag between vehicles. Since CD is determined by the vehicle's frontal area it might be more preferable to use 'drag-area' CdA which disregard the frontal area and makes comparison easier.
      One simple example on how CD can be misinterpreted is by comparing spheres. A sphere has CD = 0.47 for a specific speed (or Re = 10^4). But if you compare two identical spheres, one with diameter of 1m and the other 2m, these spheres will have identical drag coefficients but completely different drag force values at the same speed. The same can be said for vehicles, the Tesla model S has CD = 0.24 and the Toyota prius CD = 0.26, but both cars will still have roughly the same drag since the frontal area of the prius is smaller than the Teslas. This is also due to both cars having the same drag-area of CdA = 0.58m^2. Hence, CD can be said to be a bit of a misleading marketing scheme manufacturers use, if they want to be consitent and compare the true aerodynamic drag with other vehicles they should use CdA instead!

    4/24/21, I guess Jay had to hold this recording until some official release date. It is a beautiful car and definitely a nod to the future.
    As far as luxury = smooth and quiet and EV's being smooth and quiet, I don't know. Being ultra super quiet might be a bit disconcerting. I want to hear a bit of the engine rumbling and hearing the transmission shift. I believe Rolls Royce made their new Ghost so quiet that during testing, passengers felt uncomfortable and Rolls Royce made the car a touch louder and people were reassuringly comforted because of the sound.

    But, now in addition to everything else that can go wrong (see Rich Rebuilds episodes on electric cars with battery cooling leaks, etc) the self closing doors can fail, the fragrance infuser goes haywire, etc, etc. its almost like they built in shop time for the dealer service department! But, any Mercedes owners, engineers, LMK if I'm wrong. Maybe all these features just keep working?? But, not ripping Jay, this is a great channel and Jay is really giving a gift with the research, history and dedication to his passion that he's sharing.
