Archegonia are only found in lower plants, like mosses and ferns, but not in angiosperms. In angiosperms they would probably be similar to the mega spore cell that undergoes meiosis.

I've spent so much time researching books at the library and also online. THIS IS THE BEST and least confusing explanation found so far. I would like it if Mr. Klappa would make a version in which he slows down and pauses to let the facts sink into my slow brain. Think of it "for dummies". Also, I would like to understand fundamentally how the mother pollen cells become the daughter cells. Is the mother cell a complete fully formed diploid pollen grain which splits to form other happloid pollen grains? Do we know how the tube cell breaks free from the case? Do we know how the sperm can bind with the two polar cells? It would be nice to consolidate all related info (not pollination but focus on fertilization in angiosperms) not into the same video but maybe split into two videos or three. Include meiosis and mitosis for dummies. Speak slowly and pause. Balance the fundamental with details. I would so love such a video to alleviate my own frustrated confusion but teachers could show it in class. Your mission should you choose to accept. . .
