    *The international law* is very clear on the South China Sea:
    - parts of it belong to some ASEAN countries including Indonesia 🇮🇩,
    - the rest of it is the international water,
    - no part of it belongs to China🇨🇳 or Taiwan🇹🇼.

    As an Indonesian law and compliance expertise, I can see Pujiastuti is not a politician, but she is know well about the importance of law and regulatory, which should be white and black.
    And that's the UNCLOS should be, there is no grey area, it should be white and black, right or wrong!

    I really like Ibu Susi's simple thinking. And I agree that she will become ASEAN Maritime President.
    If every country works together to mine marine resources, fishermen are free to legal fishing, and vessels are free to pass through the Malacca Strait. So China doesn't need to build military bases in Hainan, Spratly Islands, and Ream (Cambodia). China also doesn't need to build ports in Kyaukpyu (Myanmar) and Gwadar (Pakistan).
    Furthermore, the US doesn't need to build a military base on Palawan Island (Philippines), and they don't need to form AUKUS and QUAD.
    Indonesia also doesn't need to upgrade military base on Natuna Island.

  • @sastradana9222
    @sastradana9222 Před rokem +1

    I completely agrees with her. Everything.
    But the thing is, we simply have no option. China is stronger, that's the cold hard fact. We can do anything we want with illegal boats from other countries, but not china.
    We have no other option but to snuggle up with china. Why? because china is the sole superpower in the region. We can't play the power-balance game against china if nothing is able to balance china out. Not even the whole ASEAN have the capacity to do that.
    We need the US for checking china's growing hegemony. And if the US still tied and still focused to mucks around with Russians in Ukraine, and still ignored us in eastern part of asia, we will continue to have no option but to giddy up and appease china.
    Besides of that, other than china being the great power dominating the region, they're the only one who are there to help Indonesia to develop. There's no US company aproaching us to build smelting industries here. No US company cared to build universities and share their technologies with us etc. Japan and SK are unwilling (and are too far) for us to consider them as a substantial check for china.
    We need the US to invest here and balancing china out. But currently they still don't care about us. So yeah, that's that.

    Susi has that courage, she won't be scared by anyone because she knows a lot about the sea. Make her the leader of the Asean sea, she will explode and ask to be sent to China's barracks fr protest.

  • @chvhndrtntlr3482
    @chvhndrtntlr3482 Před rokem +2

    I'm not sure if Susi really don't know about the dispute, or she want to keep it simple an pretend nothing's wrong, but China effort to make all of south china sea as their territory sea is because they want to secure their logistic route and to ensure China access to Hindia Ocean meanwhile US and their Allies present in south china sea is basically to block their logistic route. China pretend is about their "traditional fishing zone or their natural resource zone" meanwhile USA pretend about "they must protect their ally in south china sea because China already start the aggression".
    all of that culminating to the China's plan to reunified with taiwan A.K.A start a war with taiwan. USA really believe China will start a war in pacific, meanwhile china believe it's just an internal conflict that they must solve between themselves.
    to be a super power, China needs to have an access to Ocean either it's hindia ocean or pacific ocean. meanwhile USA don't want their enemy come to close to them. it's like Russia vs NATO scenario where in this scenario the one that get cornered like russia is the USA themselves.
    so all the effort that susi mentioned above, will be useless, because it's not really about illegal fishing, but the contest to be the ultimate defacto ruler of south china sea and pacific. China use their militia to harrass fishermen in ASEAN territory, meanwhile USA with their allies start building military base throughout pacific islands, it's just power play between two superpower country

    No one owns the ocean. It's God who own the ocean. Politics is a business. I don't want to argue about China conflicts between the boundaries of Philippines, Indonesia, Vietnam Taiwan and etc. I don't think that there something wrong if there are Chinese Vessels, Ships and Boats are running around in our own Territory. As long as China don't do any crimes against humans.
    The Question is?
    Why we feel safe if Americans are going in our Own Ocean territory. We doesn't think that Americans are strangers at all, but if Chinese People just visit our own Territory we think that Chinese are enemies.
    It seems like we think that Americans are heroes, once they visited our own Oceans, but we doesn't think Chinese are good if they're visiting are Countries in Southeast Asia. We need to unite us one nation, one foundation because we are neighbouring countries. Americans are far from us.
    We are discriminating our own Race, we are fighting us neighbouring countries.
    We Southeast Asians and East Asians have the same color type of skins, heights but honestly most of us are fighting a lot with so many issues like genocide, cultural differences, cultural discriminations and the differences between Political Rules or Law.
