    If you put out a video per day, CZcams has to choose which video to serve to people. In other words, your videos are competing against each other. What I have found works better, Shorts. If you want to put out more content, use Shorts because they aren't served out in the same way a new video is. Your subs still get the new video notification but the recommended doesn't serve the same. What I found is the Short goes flat after a day then about 7-14 days gets picked up on the short shelf and drives views. Some more, some less. May be worth a try for yall.

    Having owned a business for over 15 years, I can say that you have to keep recharging and refocusing constantly. It's a good idea to take a moment and look at where you have been and what you have done. Remember why you started and how you got where you are so you can recapture that same feeling to use moving forward.

    As an observation on my part, I have been watching you guys and a few other woodworking channels ever since our pandemic started. It looks like several of you all exploded and became you tube Rock Stars. Your timing was perfect. Now that things in our world are starting to slowly normalize, you may not see as many new subscribers or views per day or per month but you have a great following. Your business and approach has proven to be successful. Do what you love doing and post a vid whenever you feel that you have something that you want to share. I'll always watch it, enjoy it and give you a thumbs up. I'm in the same business and a year into it without the camera and great dialog that you all have. I'm also a dog lover with 2 rescues.
    Rock on Jennie and Davis. Cheers from Alpharetta, GA

    I'm very glad!! You guys are in the woodworking business, not the 'gather-an-audience' for youtube business. I always thought it was a bad idea to alter your business model to accommodate an advertising enterprise. So, I'm glad you're going back to your core business. And if youtube wants to be part of it, . . . ok. But don't try to make furniture while you are trying to be part of their efforts. Make them be part of your efforts.
    On another note, I love the planning and marketing. The best products in the world won't sell themselves. So, research, design, plan, market, sell, profit, and repeat.

    That was such a purposeful video. Like you guys said, it may not be the most exciting video, nor the most popular opinion, but I respect the hell out of you guys for simply being as honest as you were. You do what you got to do for you and your pocket health! If you didn't come right out with what you said... if you tried to kind of beat around the bush, it wouldn't be congruent with who Jennie and Davis are. It wouldn't make sense with who you guys have shown us you truly are. Keep doing what you are doing, you two! Never change because, to me, your hearts are absolute. Your hearts are the most prominently visible attribute. Your business acumen and your drive are close seconds, but the way that you care about people, each other, your fans, that allows your heart to shine the brightest!

I don't have the bell selected for every channel but for my top 10 favourite channels (this is one of them), but I never miss a new video. Just as a parallel to another youtube channel, there is one that does a month long daily video submission when he is doing something really exciting or adventurous. There is usually staged merch pushes, New items, etc that go along with it. To keep from getting burned out (and youtube being annoying) maybe you can prepare by hyping up a "week long of daily videos event " in the future. This may draw others and create an influx of sales that you can anticipate. Hopefully this helps. Take care of each other and take time for yourselves.

  • @Sembazuru
    @Sembazuru Před 2 lety +1

    To be honest, I'm not surprised. Creating and publishing daily videos can be crushing, especially if it isn't your primary business goal. Getting back to an occasional video when events merit it and that should leave more time for doing what your business needs. Hope to see another video soon (about getting your new commercial space once the ink is dry), but not so soon that you waste time editing videos that you could use for looking at commercial spaces, interviewing employees, designing your layout, keeping up to date on orders, etc. I'm really hoping that you can get moved in and working before your padding stock sells out, but recognize that you might still need to make a batch or two more boards before you can actually start producing in the new space.

    I enjoy your videos but this one sounds like a "pity party." Suddenly it is "work" and not fun. Who gets off work at 3pm? Did you start at 5/6am? So Jennie works another job, she gets paid for it and now she's tried to have to come back and do the family business. That is a decision you both made when you started this. Owning your own business is hard work. There aren't "days off" or employees to do the work. You did the extra videos not to educate people but to make more money, Davis says as much. So it didn't work out and now you want us to feel sorry you worked that hard and didn't make the extra money. Focus on your work, what you need to do to be successful that it what will get you ahead.

      @@jennieanddavis no you missed the point. I've been there and I know what you are experiencing. Owning and running a business is hard work and understanding that comes with time. You can earlier make the decision to work hard it or play at it, that is up to you. Set backs will come and how you handle them will determine if you are successful or not.

      @@jennieanddavis I'm with Larry. I've listened to all your podcast and watched many of your videos and you guys were focused on hard work. Now it seems like you just like to complain while Jennie does all the real work. If you got off the comments and focused more on working harder maybe that would inspire more people = more views.

    1. First long comments or the use of the “a” word seems to be disliked by yt so I’ll instead use math model (mm) as “they” won’t post my comment with the “a” word in it, or as a long comment so here goes try 5.

      The whole point of these videos is to document their journey, which includes good and bad. By watching and subscribing you are taking that journey with them and if you start your own business they are outlining some of the pitfalls with running a business. I've been in business for myself for 27 years now and its tiring, but very rewarding. Have patience and enjoy their journey.
