It's an EPIC TBR! I love your approach to designing your summer. I love reading seasonally as well. I agree that My Brilliant Friend is a great summer book. I actually worked my way through the series annually, only reading them in summer. I finished last summer. I am curious about the Ann Napolitano book. I would like to read Brandon Sanderson soon. Happy reading!

Nice! I literally just got it from the library. Because it's summer, I have it for 2 months, so if I don't get to it this month, I'll likely still try in September.

Another ambitious TBR… 😂🤦♀️ I hope you can get to Mistborn soon, it’s a good one!! I want to continue that series, I’ve only read the first book. And I really need to get to My Brilliant Friend, I’ve been seeing it everywhere too and am feeling some major FOMO, haha. Maybe you, me, and Ellen can do it for another buddy read sometime in the near future if you don’t end up reading it in August 😉 Excited for Parable of the Talents! 🎉
Ahah yes, I hadn't fully realized how unrealistic it was until I started gathering the books 🤣🤣🤣 and then counting how there actually was... 😱 I've made peace with not completing it, at least in one month, but it motivates me to read more, so at least there's that ^^
I also really want to get to Mistborn! Argh, it's a hard trade-off because I might be able to read 1.5/2 other books instead of that one, but I want to get to it at some point and earlier rather than later.

@@Curious-Cat Haha yeah I can relate, I kind of realized that my stack was a bit big as well after I made my video 😂 It is definitely good motivation though!! Yeah that’s a tough dilemma, Brandon Sanderson does not write short books, that’s for sure haha. They’re so good though so I’d say to try to get to that one if you’re feeling it!!

Your copy of Talents is so so pretty, I'm very jealous, although I haven't really made up my mind on the duology yet... as I haven't read it all. But hopefully the second part will lift the score for me.
I saw Elena Ferrante on the NY Times list as well, and I do want to read that series at some point! Gah there are so many books I want to get to like right now, it's impossible! I hope you'll enjoy it if you get to it, but like you've said, it's quite an ambitious tbr haha! I'm rooting for you though! 😁
I knoooow! Too many books, too little time, it's so frustrating! I was so sure I would love Parable of the Talents, which is why I got this gorgeous edition, and even though it was a fairly good book, it wasn't an absolute hit for me either. Curious to see how the next one goes. I hope it makes it truly worth it!

But yeah, I hope Talents is better. Not that Sower was bad but... yeah, I had excpected more.
Ok ok, now I've watched it properly to comment
1. I haven't read Circe but I did enjoyed the Song of Aquilles, her writing was so good and was key for how the story developed, hopefully you'll like it.
2. I really need to catch up with Mr Sanderson, I've only read Elantris, but is barely a dent on his catalog. I'm hoping to catch up by the time the 2nd arc of the stormlight archive releases.
3. I'm not particular of reading books a certain season, but I'll definitely save My Brilliant Friend for next year's summer. I've heard so many great things.
4. I'll guess I'm adding Endless Terrors to my TBR because it sounds sooo good.
5. Consider me part of the lots of people who want you to read A fate inked in blood. Don't know what it's about but I want to hear your thoughts

Endless Terrors is number 5 in the Fortuna Sworn series, so you might want to start with the first one, but yeah it's a fun one!

I want to read it soon but haven't gotten around to it. Same thing about A Fate Inked in Blood; I'm sooo excited to see what you think about it 🤩

It is a huge list indeed, I've made peace with the fact I won't be able to read everything, but I hope it'll push me to read more than I would have otherwise and I'm already strategizing for when I'm traveling to make sure I keep the momentum going then :)

Yes, it's the anniversary edition and it matches the one I have of Circe 😍 you should join Ellen' book club and read it with us 😇 I've started playing DnD in the last couple of years and still feel kinda new to it in some ways. I don't know if I'd say I'm a fan because my knowledge still feels rather limited, but I'm a practitioner for sure and I enjoy it very much ^^
So interested to hear what you think of Parable of the Talents! I read Sower at the beginning of the year and generally enjoyed it but haven't gotten to the sequel. Maybe your review will light a fire under my ass 😂
I also came to the Mistborn series through his fantasy writing lectures! (love those!) I enjoyed the first book, was entertained in the second but really didn't vibe with the conclusion of the series, but it was well-written.
Also can't wait to hear thoughts on A Fate Inked in Blood! Something about it just worked so well for me, I really enjoyed the magic system!

@@Curious-Cat yeah I think I feel similarly about Brandon Sanderson's books tbh. There might not be any super *new* or revolutionary use of tropes but they're fun and well written and have something about the setting/magic that makes it interesting. hope you enjoy it! :)
