ABOUT…
I am Rebecca and I am one heck of a passionate vocal coach/singer/songwriter/impressionist/health/fitness/self- improvement/anything that makes me smile!! I love anything vocal/singing related and geek out on it every day. I want to motivate and inspire others to follow their dreams…corny? Well maybe but it’s true. So what’s motivating me?? I had a huge tumour removed summer 2017 and my ovaries and fallopian tubes. The tumour was the size of a 20 week baby!! However, despite not being able to walk for a couple of weeks, and feeling generally awful…. It has made me create and do what I love! It wasn’t an easy time but I won’t let fear dictate my life. I didn’t think ‘why me’, there are plenty of horrific issues people have to deal with…it’s not always smooth sailing. It’s true when you hear, ‘Life is short’, the crazy thing is, I am glad it happened…I appreciate life even more and practice gratitude everyday…It’s so easy to get caught up with the little things…and I do sometimes, but look at the bigger picture, will it matter in a year or two…?

Their voices complement each other very well, and you nailed why. Gaga’s dark and smoky tone matches well with Ariana’s light and airy. Great contrast.

I’m so proud of Ariana. this come out on her Manchester concert bombing anniversary day and the song fits perfectly for it. she’s so strong
The dagger in her leg is also symbolic. She had a leg injury and it led to her discovery that she has fibromyalgia, I believe. Which also led to her dealing with extreme depression. This entire song and video is so beautiful! Loved your take on everything. :)

@@Jremasters You're right, it is the hip. Perhaps they put the dagger in the leg cause it was easier to place or visually easier to see. Definitely think it still represents the fibromyalgia between the placement and then the daggers raining over her entire body.

Always love your reviews. I’m not sure if anyone has pointed out yet that the dagger in GAGA’s leg represents the chronic pain in her hip after the injury she got on tour. She goes into it a lot more in Five Foot Two on Netflix. I really appreciated her talking about it so openly as I have a genetic condition that comes with a fair whack of chronic pain, I can only IMAGINE what Ms Gaga goes through: and look at her werk that shit. Ari was awesome too: the wings were to represent 🐝 and the single dropped on the 3 year memorial of the Manchester attack. Incredible women. In awe.

She has Fibromyalgia (I think from the hip injury), which causes widespread pain and severe fatigue. I've got this and can't imagine how she gets up and moves the way she does! I'm stuck in bed most days and she's dancing! She's amazing.

i would love to hear your analysis lyrically , including the use of present and past tense in the songs. i believe both are on the highest standard of sonics and emoting, yet completely different in stylizing. the tragic subject is very apparent, but i feel a sense of guilt filters in to the end of both songs. i would love to put forward Billie Eilish's self directed video " I had a dream:" and the grammy performance live of "Anyone by Demi Lovato.without trying to lead you, i feel on intimacy both are a 10/10

Love the lyrics (rain being the metaphor for the pain the artists went through and persevering), and melody. It’s a bop! 🔥🔥🔥
The knives were symbolic of her struggle with fibromyalgia and her hip pain I’m guessing. She also has smaller ones on her face which indicates pain in her face and around her eyes. They both went through a breakup as well. Gaga also list a best friend to cancer. All this while filming A Star is Born. Watch Gaga’s Documentary Five Foot Two if you haven’t.

I love both these lovely ladies. Their music always makes me feel who I am is okay. Being myself is not something that comes naturally as I grew up in a 'sheltered' environment, where no one spoke about mental illness or anything seen as 'sinful'. So when I listen to songs I, almost always, look up the lyrics and what the song means to the artist. I may not be able to sing, but music has saved my life on numerous occasions. I honestly do not think I would be alive today if there was no music in the world.
Anyway, I just wanted to say thank you for being a positive light in this world of ours. Hope you have a wonderful day!
