So, an old man Dante ASMR has been requested a good few times, so here’s a Devil May Cry ASMR roleplay where he interviews you for the role of… wait, what was it?
In the spirit the game, it’s all in goofy fun and doesn’t take itself too seriously. In terms of ASMR triggers, there’s lots of leather sounds and writing sounds to help you relax, and Dante is soft spoken - but my register is a bit lower than the VA, so I’m afraid my impression is nowhere near accurate. And if the wig, jacket, gun, and face look janky, it’s because I fashioned them all myself from old materials and hot glue (apart from my face, I guess, but I did the makeup). Anyway, all that aside, I hope you enjoy some DMC silliness! Enjoy!

🎙 What is ASMR? 🎧
ASMR (autonomous sensory meridian response) is synaesthesia of the soul. It’s a relaxing feeling, it’s a tingling down the spine, or it’s simply a sleep aid. Whether it’s being ‘held’ by someone you have confidence in, or ‘looked after’ by someone with authority, or just feeling ‘safe’ with someone you trust, it uses audio-visual triggers to enable you to let go of your worries and stresses - even just for a bit.
📽 What is FPC? 🎞
FPC (first person cinema) takes all the relaxing elements of ASMR but has much more of a focus on immersion and the suspension of disbelief. It’s kinda like being the main character in your own short movie, with popular figures you know and love, or entirely created worlds - just for you. There won’t be any visible mics or traditional triggers in these videos, and they will seem more unintentional than the usual ASMR videos - but they are unique and relaxing experiences designed to transport you to different places, worlds, and times.

My dude is out here apologizing on almost every video about his "Lack of Talent" and yet I constantly think it's some of the best-looking stuff I've seen. I mean the fact he's willing to dump in so much time just to MAKE an outfit for a roleplay is Grade A quality in of itself.

Dante has been one of my all time favourite characters for just over 15 years now, and I am blown away by how accurate this is.
All those teenage years I spent obsessing over this guy in art and fanfiction, I never once saw the idea that this disorganised himbo desperately needs a secretary explored in any medium.
And just before I start a secretarial course, no less! Well, I for one am feeling a whole lot more motivated. Thanks Jim!

The accent/voice is actually on point, as well as the editing! DMC is one of my favorite gaming series, so I'm so glad to see it getting some ASMR love, especially from you Jim. You did an amazing job way back with Geralt so of course you'd do a stellar job with Dante. Here's hoping we get Vergil too.

Organization tip that is free and teaches discipline! Always put stuff back where it belongs after use, no excuses. People think they put back later but they don’t, you waste time and energy looking for stuff when it should be where it belongs! This tip isn’t free, but have a pair of scissors in every room. Cheap all purpose scissors, then when you need them you aren’t looking all over the damn place for a pair of scissors. Am I hired? I can also bring lemon pound cake to the office…… oh your jacket is very nice.
Now I need Nero and Vergil ASMR. Not sure how they would go but I’m sure Jim could come up with something.

Some of this makes me wonder if the Assistant Administrator is actually V. Like Dante handing them a book of poetry, and the Assistant Administrator saying something that his mom used to say to him, and near the end when Dante asks "Who do you remind me of?" It's really interesting.

I thought Dante was trying to throw me off balance by shocking me to see how I might manage to regain and maintain my equilibrium in the chaotic work situations of administrating for a devil hunter. What a great, sharp sense of humour and intelligence, I thought. I've got his number and I like it! I want this job! Then I found out his only safety catch for the lazy gun pointing was his "excellent trigger control!" As soon as he said I had the job and piled on more crazy detail of expectations I sooo didn't want it.
I would love to be his gopher for hot pizza though. I would do that for no more payment than time listening to his fascinating, chaotic rambling while he, in his creaky jacket, chewed on it and swished his clinky iced drink.
Jim says his dialogues are off the cuff spontaneous creations. So very impressive, even the saves he slips in here and there....like when he ran out of questions then covered with the... just doodling himself line. 🤭 ✔
