  • In this video, I show you how I redesigned and remodeled our camper dinette. The original was pretty old looking but had some good points. The cushions were still usable and very good but the benches themselves needed some serious updating to get rid of that old, tired, dingy look and give it a more modern and fresh look.

By day I'm a Functional Medicine Doctor and Chiropractic Physician. Outside of the office I have a lot of different hobbies and interests. Everything from cycling, home projects, wood working, and tinkering with my F150. I love doing DIY projects and just being a creator. Some have failed miserably while others have been a huge success. No matter the project there was always something to learn from each. There's a certain satisfaction from making something yourself. I've learned so much from other professionals and DIY'ers here on CZcams. This channel is dedicated to helping you tackle your own DIY projects and hopefully taking some of the mystery and fear out of the equation.

Looks great! Have any issues with the contact paper on the table peeling?

While we owned it we didn't have any issues. Since selling I'm not sure what the status is.

Looked great. I’m selling my rv and need to redo the dining table because the laminate is peeling. Where did you buy the marble peel and stick sheet? Thanks

This is definitely an aesthetically pleasing improvement. My question is about function. Do you need the sleeping space conversion of the dinette? If you do, I see why you put the seats so far apart that anyone sitting there cannot use the backrest and eat at the same time.
My Forest River Cedar Creek Cottage 40CFK2 comes with a bench (not fixed) in the 2024 model but it's situated way too far from the table to be useful as dining seating. I noticed it is the same with your seats. I do like the idea that the table is free-standing so if both of you are sitting on just one side you can pull the table closer to make the seating more comfortable. Do you have to do that?
Next time you make a "how to" video don't swing the camera around so much, it takes away from what you are trying to demonstrate. Also, I didn't know you could nail into the aluminum supports. Good demo. Beautiful result.

Thank you. I know I was quickly chasing my wife around. My other videos are much more smooth. Lol. We actually sold this unit so we didn't get much of a chance to experience it and find out what we liked and needed to improve.

Did you remove the old cushion covers, or just put the new covers over top of them?

We just put the new covers right over the top of the existing covers. Worked perfect.

Curious about where you got the table from??

It came with the camper. I put a marble peel n stick on the table and painted the benches. Turned out pretty good.

Where did you get table I need one

That was the original table that came with the camper. I just put a faux marble peel n stick surface on it.

Personally I'd rather rip out a dinette. prefer a futon and if I want to eat just pull out a folding table or sit outside underneath the awning.

If I were to do another I would have attached a better base and made my own butcher block counter top or table top. But a futon would work as well. Just depends on the need I suppose.
